    Re: NHL 17 Wishlist Thread

I just really want to be able to earn HUT coins in every mode again just like NHL 14. I don't care if I can only earn a certain amount while playing in different modes, and then have to redeem them to keep earning more.

I really do enjoy playing HUT, but most of my time is spent playing EASHL with friends, so when I do go to play it would be nice to have earned a few coins prior to playing.

I would like when you score a goal all the players on the ice should celebrate together not only two. And I would like to design you own team with jersey and logo in online mode.

Be A Pro: Get rid of grades. It serves no purpose other than telling me 2-3 points a game isn't enough to get my A grade. Can't we be graded on points, +/-, etc.

Considerably better rosters - Radko Gudas for example shouldn't be rated as highly as Shane Gostisbehere

The ability to share rosters - EA Sports rosters for hockey are terrible compared to that of many of their other games, often going for months without getting updated. There's no doubt that the community could do a better job.

Possession stats - Time of possession isn't a real thing that clubs track. The NHL added advanced stats to their website, but the game is largely lacking them. Add individual and on-ice shot attempts (Corsi), unblocked shots (Fenwick), and shots on goal (Shot) statistics as part of the breakdown.

Better measure of progression - Surprise! Your 22 year old guy who put up 60 points and has a potential of "Elite" went from an 82 to an 83. It's incredibly annoying.

Better HUT with more options - Much of it is only okay and it wears thin rather quickly. There's a lot that could be changed to improve upon it.
          • Change stat cards to "hot streak" cards which effect different types of players differently.
          • In addition to position cards, have cards that change "Player Type" as well, but in a linear fashion - something like Enforcer > Grinder, Grinder > Power Forward, Power Forward > Two-Way Forward, Two-Way Forward to Playmaker, and Playmaker > Sniper and the same thing but backward. Have those card change stats for players, for example enforcer to grinder take some off of checking and add some to speed and defense. Switching enforcers to grinders could be bronze cards and switching playmakers to snipers could be gold cards for example.
          • Add player progression cards - the ability to "age" younger players to their prime years from 18 to 26 or maybe 28. Different cards could be added for fourth line progression, third line progression, second line progression, first line progression, power play specialist, penalty kill specialist, etc. and something similar for defensemen and goalies. Maybe add additional cards for AHL level progression to differentiate between bronze, silver, and gold categories. Doing so to different types of players would have different effects. They'd also increase salary.
          • Make arena cards matter more - Larger arenas in better markets could equal "more revenue" in the form of pucks. Start us off with some horrible stadium in the CHL and obtain cards which offer bonuses. Add European stadiums such as Lanxess Arena, PostFinance-Arena and Scandinavium for those that would rather play a European style, but still have a larger stadium.
          • Do away with chemistry bonuses and penalties for leagues and teams played on - All of these players ultimately play on your team, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have penalties for it. Keep chemistry for country of origin; Finns playing better with other Finns, Russians with Russians as that makes sense. Also keep the line mix bonuses.
          • Contract cards are annoying.

          I guess that's all I have.

Fix the skating engine. Skating is someting that every player does without thinking about it. Yet in NHL 16 you are constantly fighting the controls just to do basic maneuvers. Bringing back the old style vision control would help a lot.

This could be used for multiple reasons, and it is absolutely possible. WWE 2k has it down, and I think if EA could implement it into their game, this could be a big step into added realism. Think of what could be done:
              -Goalie masks
              -Logos
              -Ads (ice/boards)
-Facepacks (So when you create a player, be yourself or prospects not in the game, it has a proper image instread of the blscked out face)
-Hell, even in WWE they have custom cyberfaces you can do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbvxbf7d5Rs

The list could go on and on, and hey while we're talking about custom stuff, why not custom teams. WWE/NBA/(probably more!) hve a thing for tattoo's that I think could be perfect for jerseys.
Say you start out with a jersey. No stripes/logos. Just a plain jersey. You can pick templates, or you can make your own. Start with the base color of the jersey, use your uploaded logo, and start designing it. You should be given lines that you can make bigger/smaller and you can move them anywhere on the jersey. Allow full movement of these lines for complete customization of the jerseys.

It may not be as simple for them to make as it seems, but it shouldnt take longer than NHL 18 if they really tried to do it. Hell by the looks of WWE's logo uploader that could probably be worked in within 5 months! Thats loads of time!
Something like that would be a godsend. Imagine just being able to upload a logo to your EA account, access it via the in-game menu, and apply it to the helmet or jersey in game. It would be great. Honestly, a template that you could download for the various gloves, pads, helmets, jerseys, etc. would be perfect. Let the players download the files in PSD format, upload them to their account, and import them into the game. Maybe allow for 10 or so "open" slots for customized gear before things need to be deleted or replaced. This way you can create teams and import them into your preferred game mode. We could create teams like Switzerland or Slovenia, update their rosters (hopefully with improved created players) and then add their jerseys and gloves to the teams.

Custom Images would be great, awesome but I can live without it.

But, the problem is, I had this problem with NHL 13 too and this is why I played NHL2K10 instead, even when I bought NHL 13 preowned, the problem is it only gives you a set list of town / city names.

If your outside Canada or the US or have a smalltown team it doesnt cover it or want to make fictional teams it wont cover that.

Can we please let the developers know we should be allowed to call the team whatever we want for both names

-Being able to upload a picture of your face to add to your created player would be cool..
-Adding something like the ECHL would be cool, but I doubt that will happen.
-Change up the celebration for winning the stanley cup. It has been the exact same celebration for like a decade now..
-Adding the signing period of NCAA players when their season is over would be awesome.. Obviously they can't say NCAA so they can just say USA like they do for the regular draft.
-Adding expansion teams to the league would be cool. Not just replacing a current team with a new team, but adding a totally new expansion team like Las Vegas potentially could in the future.
-adding a tournament like the World Junior championships for scouting players would be cool, but probably won't happen.
-Your player in Be a Pro making the olympic team and playing in the olympics would be cool. Obviously calling it world tournament to avoid using the name Olympics for legal purposes.

Probably none of this will never happen lol..

I only have 1 wish for this game. Please make it so that whatever the CPU can do my players can do. I mean if the CPU players can intercept every pass then I want my players able to do that. If the CPU players can fire passes through my defenders for perfect one timers, then I was to be able to do that as well.
I really don't care about anything else, the most frustrating part of this game is going down on offense and getting absolutely owned only to come back to my end, play great, and still get owned. That is what really bothers me about this game.

Many are the same as in NHL 07. We're actually talking nearly a decade.

Player positions should mean a lot more in the game.

Right now, a LW can play the same at any position, even on defense. Hell, I could put Erik Karlsson on RW and he could score 120 points, or move Patrick Kane on D and he'd still put up 80-90 points.

A player who's natural position is RW should play better when playing RW. If he's moved to C, he should get a little drop in his ratings because he doesn't play at his best.

Just look at Alex Galchenyuk. He did just OK when playing LW, but when he was moved back to C, he put up 22 points in 22 games.

Same thing goes for Dmen. There are some guys who are great playing LD, but when playing RD lose all their means.

Saying that, EA should add a multi-position option. For example, Alex Ovechkin is great only when he plays LW. Jamie Benn is great playing both LW and RW. They should also differentiate LD and RD, so putting a LD on RD would be risky.

This would benefit a lot to Be a GM when trying to assemble the perfect team, because right now I can have 20 RW and still win the Cup.

Sorry if this is a bit late but

More realistic AI/CPU on both offense and defense, positioning & general game play overall. That being said... So very sick & tired of... As a defender, any move you make against an AI puck carrier approaching your blue line & he instantly without fail in in the single beat of a hummingbirds wing makes the perfect counter move. It's like playing against & trying to body check a dragon fly. I don't expect them to skate right in to you but as I said, more realistic. If you're fast enough switching players & move to just the right locations, they will get stuck in an endless loop between the red line and your blue line trying to enter the zone.
