Re: How's your Franchise Mode Going?

After careful consideration, the Carolina Hurricanes have become...

    The Milwaukee Beasts!

And here is a look at the team's new home uniforms:

The team plays at the newly constructed Harley Davidson Center in downtown MKE.

In their last season as the Hurricanes, the team gave the fans in Raleigh something to cheer about, making it to the Eastern Conference Finals. However, their dream season ended in Game 7 of that series, falling to Montreal.

The Beasts have moved to their new home, and started the 2017-18 campaign 1-1. A 7-2 win in their home opener against the NY Rangers helped christen the H-D Center in style.

        Thanks!

I wanted to pull in the Harley colors, and added the brown for the bear. That also helped distinguish the colors/look from the Flyers.

With 4 games left and on a 4 game losing streak, we sneak into the playoffs. Not sure who we are playing yet but Nashville (with Jagr) and San Jose both have 104 points.

i started a franchise with the Islanders, got to the 2017 draft and was looking at the US/Russia prospects since they are more random generated and found a US goalie...

it was the 4th round so i figured i would take a chance on him, which turned out decent since he was a Medium Starter goalie...

the only reason I even considered him... his name was James Goalie... a goalie with the last name goalie... too perfect

Re: How's your Franchise Mode Going?

I probably should have posted earlier but I've been a long time reader of the forums here, and a user of some of the slider sets.

I'm in my third franchise, and I'm 15-26-5 with the Leafs using the All-Star sliders form TNKGMAN on the slider page. My goalies are around 3.3 and 4.00 GAA. My games are rarely competitive and I just can't seem to win.

This is the third franchise I'm playing so far this year and they have all been pretty similar to this.

I've played on position lock, not on position lock, auto line change, manual line change, etc.

I've been playing this series since the early days and have never struggled this bad. Any helpful hints will be greatly appreciated.

Anyway quick question for the franchise mode.
                Can you relocate first season?

I'm asking cause I wanna go for a long franchise career, which means, if it's possible to relocate straight away,or edit an existing team before staring the game,I'm thinking not just relocation but also a expansion,I know that's not psychically possible, but in my mind,a bit of pretending)

For instance, take Carolina, rename them, move them, and before that, trade all players, and pick up "unprotected" players from other teams.
Having a 75-80 ovr team, and going for a long career.
Setting up goals like reaching playoffs within 5-10 season etc
You can start the motions to move your team right away. I got approval from Carolina's ownership to move to Milwaukee in the first week.

I believe if you wanted to start the season, you could create the team, and then swap it with Carolina. No idea on the specifics personally.

Yeah im pretty much Looking to have a "expansion " team from the get go.
Read somewhere that you can't swap players that easily, since they might get duplicated.
I'll give it a go though.
Liking the idea of having a really crappy team to start with and go for the long haul.
I want to say you can create the team before you start a season, and replace their roster with another teams, so Carolina in this case. Then when you start the season you can import then. But, that said, I've never tried it. I simmed through the season to get to the end of the year, but Carolina snuck into the playoffs, so now I'm down 3-1 against Washington trying to come back and hold on.

Finally it's set up kinda alright.
Made the Hanzal trade before starting my franchise,Hanxzal/White for two draft picks, and got Pulkinen and Downing in.

One strange thing, why is Datsyuk on my roster?
He's up for a trade along with Doan.
My Coyotes are up for a serious rebuild, guess it'll take at least 5 seasons to be competitive.
Got room for a few heavy free agents,I'm barely above salary floor
Datsyuk is on the roster because EA has no way of dealing with teams only owning a players contract without them actually being on the roster. Same thing goes for players that are on LTIR and basically retired (Franzen, Savard, Pronger, etc). I'd recommend editing them down to 36 and dropping them to free agency if you're striving for realism

well realism you wouldn't drop datsyuk to free agency you would just drop his stats to where you dont have to worry about him getting put in a lineup

Played all 82 games, season one.

Finished 42-29-11 (95 points) - we head to Minnesota to face the Wild who ended up with 102 points and had a nice 12 game winning streak. We are better on the road though, so it should be an interesting series.

Ideally, yes, but with injuries turned on you'd either only have room for 2 scratches (if you were using that team) or the CPU would put him in the lineup if they had an injury and weren't using that team.

you drop his skills to minimum so cpu wouldn't put him in the lineup

and if u play as AZ you put him in minors, his cap hit is still there

Just had an intense playoff Game 1 vs Minnesota, where I tie it up 4-4 with 40 seconds left. We go into OT and it's 3v3 and then shootout? WTF??????

I know for a FACT I selected continuous OT when I started franchise mode and this has happened two years in a freaking row!

Why can't we at LEAST change this setting in franchise mode? The only way to look at this setting is to start a new franchise - I did that for giggles and it defaults to continuous OT, so there is NO way I changed it. Now I do change slider settings in global mode and that shows normal OT with 3v3 and then shootout, but nowhere in there can you change playoff OT settings.

What a freaking BUMMER!!! No way in heck am I going to a 3v3 and then shootout in a playoff game.

See you all when NHL 18 comes out, if I even buy it. I'm so burned out on this franchise and stupid things like not being able to change a setting like this in your franchise. If there is way PLEASE tell me how to do it.

Well.. I've read the playoff OT issue might be a glitch and some say your next tie game should have proper OT rules, so I'll continue on for now. We win 5-4 in OT to go up 1-0 in the series.
