Dude why do you care? All you do is call people out for their criticism of the game. The irony is you have your own criticism of the game. Surely you are not suggesting that only your criticism is fair, honest, and warranted. This isn’t the EA forums. We come here to talk, share info, praise and criticism of the game and nobody’s opinion or thoughts are wrong as they are their personal views on the series. If it’s constant arguing or battling with someone you are looking for these are the wrong forums.

Edit: I don't 'call people out for their criticism'. I call people out who say 'devs need to be fired' and then post a screenshot of outshooting their opponent. Like - what is that?
Then there's Venom - who constantly just berates this game any chance he can but he demonstrates a simple lack of skill when playing the game. I've witnessed it first hand.
So when someone says 'x y z NEEDs to be fixed' and 'person x , person y and person Z don't know anything about hockey or have low hockey IQ's' I expect their skill to match their criticisms. But alas, in this case, it doesn't.Last edited by KoryDub; 09-24-2019, 11:16 AM.Comment

Re: Impressions a week later since this game has been out?
There's one thing the game has had for years that people don't talk about.....the fixed CPU games. You're on a bit of a win streak and then there's a game where no matter what you do, you are going to lose. It happens in every iteration I've played and I know it's intentional. No matter how many shots you take, the goalie is going to save them all and you're going to lose. It's definitely a thing, and no one talks about it.
Happened to me again last night, Rangers v.s Devils, shots 32-31 in favour of NJ and Lundqvist got all of them, including desperation saves that he had no business getting to, multiple times.Comment

I'm not arguing with anyone man - I'm being pretty chill about Venom's constant attacks tbh. I mean - the guy literally uploaded a YouTube video and then proceeded to call me out in the description.. I mean.. come on lol

You're also a lousy detective; you fashion yourself quite the Sherlock Holmes, but in reality you wouldn't even come up to Watson's shoes. I don't think you'd even compare to Columbo. So let me help you out here by planting a clue for ya: The reason I have 500 CR is because that was my first (and only) VS game in NHL 20. Also I won that game (my opponent backed out before the game was over) and yet how many CR points did I get? Give it to me in round numbers, pls... Oh zero? Well that's certainly pretty round. I guess this "lack of skill" I possess caused this glitch and not the game being programmed badly. Imagine being so bad you destroy your only opponent 6-2, eclipsing him in every game stat possible, make your opponent quit in rage and then you get shafted by faulty game code. No reason to call out the game being programmed by amateurs since it was obviously my lack of skill that's the problem. As Kory would like to say right about now: "Elementary my dear!".
You said I was upset and hated the game because I get dominated by my opponents. I showed proof that my criticism has NOTHING to do with the results I get. Irrefutable. Rock Solid. Proof. You said you played me "two years ago" and you beat me. Funny, I don't remember playing you. In fact, I wouldn't have been able to play you at all since all I ever played was EASHL Drop-ins and LG games. Also, I didn't show a game I won 2-3 years ago, I showed you a game I won a few days ago because, things change. Players improve. Oh you don't? Do tell...
Look, if something's bad, I call it bad. Pretty cut 'n dry... I don't call out the devs. I don't mock them. Heck, I even had a dialogue going with a few of them a couple of years back. Still do from time to time.
Yet what did you do given the chance? That's right... You acted like the blaggard you are and tried to attack me again. You act like you're the victim, when in fact YOU are the one going around slinging mud and insults at anyone who's opinions you don't like. Just ask DJ NEO to recount his experience with you first hand...
I'm done with you. You aren't worth my time anymore, or anyone else's time on this forum. I've outgrown you. If you weren't so inept (both at life and at this game), I might feel angry and insulted.
But I feel nothing. Just like what you are: nothing at all.Last edited by VeNOM3099; 09-24-2019, 12:32 PM.Comment

Re: Impressions a week later since this game has been out?
To be fair that's not limited to this game. I've seen this in nba2k and FIFA. But worst offender of this is PES. Like you said you would be on a nice 4 or 5 game win streak when all of a sudden that next game your team plays like they are on something. Easy passes, through balls all go to the CPU,keepers making crazy saves etc. Worse still it usually happens against a lowly team that you would normally beat at a canter under normal circumstances..Comment

The thing about NHL though is that often it's not the ebb and flow of the game that gets you. It's the inconsistencies. Like the AI snatching passes while not even looking. Or making tape-to-tape, between the leg passes several times in succession. Or your goalie suddenly allowing a weak floater from the blue line. Or your AI teammates not being able to stay in formation while attacking. Or your AI defensemen slamming into you when you have the puck or you're in position to defend against the puck handler.
No game is perfect, NBA 2K20 has plenty of things that are wrong. The AI double-teaming bug is infuriating. But it pales in comparison to all the things wrong with EA's NHL series, and not just the most recent version.
Simply unacceptable in today's age to have a big company like EA put out a game like NHL in the state it's in.Comment

Re: Impressions a week later since this game has been out?
added my Franchise SuperStar Coach Mode 20 minutes, so in case u over look things in visual and shooting, its puck highlight is off and line changes are manual and shot aims are : aim-assist.
anyways have fun!Comment

Absolutely.
I think it’s because the CPU figures your team or players are good for x-amount of wins or points throughout the season.
So if you’re 8-0 and your top player has 20 points, the CPU will make sure the next game is a loss and your top scorer will be shutout.

Re: Impressions a week later since this game has been out?
Believe or not, NHL 20 is the most enjoyable hockey game which I have played ever. After some slider tweaks (and maybe player attributes tweaking too) it's even better. I am strictly offline player. And I have played hockey games from the 80s, since Face Off came out for PCs. I have modded NHL games for PCs too (cyberfaces, rosters, AI etc....) NHL 20...It's definitely better than NHL 19. If not perfect, but in my books it's definetely the best hockey game which I have played. Now I am recreating rosters so that overall ratings of NHL players will vary between 40-94 so I get even more out of the game, those revamped rosters needs of course special sliderset.
I see there's some people on this forum who doesn't like the game mostly because it's EA's product. If you are thinking do I have to buy NHL20, don't put too much value on their words. If you like to play hockey offline, I highly recommend NHL20 to you. Yes it has it's downs too, but "feeling" you get by playing it, is better than any NHL game from the 80s till this day. (Yes, if you was interested, I have played 2K8 and 2K10 too)Last edited by oosterbe; 09-25-2019, 04:18 AM.Comment

I always say there is nothing wrong with liking the game. I have many issues with the game and the direction the series has taken. I have many complaints all legitimate. That said I do agree the offline game plays the best since NHL 14.....so far. I say so far because NHL 19 Beta was fantastic and a few tuners and patches later it was unplayable. My take on NHL 20 is the offline game is pretty good the online game is worse than ever. I fear, as in the past, they will make changes to please the online community and it will destroy the offline game.
The patch and tuner issue is just one legitimate gripe. If you read most complaints from respected longtime players and community members they are complaints about issues plaguing the series for years. Hoping EA addresses these long standing issues rather than add create a mascot, create a team, and arcade gimmick modes is perfectly acceptable and not without merit.
I’m glad people are enjoying it and I may play my first offline season since NHL 14 but it doesn’t mean EAs lack of attention to long standing issues and some lingering poor AI issues is wrong.Comment

But I enjoy playing the game anyway. It has some issues, but they didn't ruin the game for me.Comment

Re: Impressions a week later since this game has been out?
One of the most idiotic things about this game, and it's a legacy issue, is if one of your penalty killers takes a penalty, it doesn't let you choose which player you want replacing that killer while they're in the box. There should be a pop up initiated when the player takes a penalty and who you want to replace them a la Madden games when your guy is injured and can choose to take a few plays off and return or remove them from the game.
So many times, a defenseman will take a penalty and then the computer trots out a god damned forward to take his spot on the PK. I shouldn't have to pause the game, go change the PKer for one penalty and then have to go and change it back.Comment
