You can still try making a patch fpkg.

I managed to extract the .big file with the fightnight.bms script. all textures are also extracted. But my question is, how can I import the textures back into the .big file? quickbms reimport works but then the .big file is damaged. I did reimport again with fightnight.bms</pre>

Use quickbms reimport2 mode to bypass size limits.

it would all work fine to mod the NHL 18 PS4 textures. The only thing I can't do is convert the dds to gnf. I tried everything with the bms script from Chrrox's because it converts the dds to gnf but it is completely pixelated. I attach a gnf file. if you like, you can try it. exporting gnf to dds is no problem via Noesis.</pre>

Try to find ps4 sdk to download (I don’t know where). orbis-image2gnf.exe which is part of sdk maybe can do conversion.
This will convert given DDS to gnf. Contribute to Backporter/SSE-Fallout-4-Texture-Converter development by creating an account on GitHub.

hello raupe, Unfortunately, the reimport doesn't work for me. not even with the reimport2. I have attached the edited file to you. can you try to reimport it? I used the fightnight.bms. Thank you

                Re: NHL PS4 Texture Modding

I think the problem is chunkzip (I think files are compressed this format) compressed files and re-import doesn't work with chunk compressed files. I can modify bms to bypass chunkzip compression and compress files separately before re-importing.

                Edit.
                Try with these scripts.
                1. Compress jersey_rbk_edmonton_oil_kings_three_cm.gnf using chunkzip.bms
                2. Reimport2 to big using nhl18_reimport.bms

hello raupe, do you happen to know how I can build a commando into fightnight.bms to extract only a certain file where I also know what its name is? because always unpacking 14 gb is tedious. thank you for your help

                        Re: NHL PS4 Texture Modding

I don't know is it possible to extract single file from archive using quickbms. Why you have to extract bigs many times. I extracted all bigs in same place and game data folder is over 50 Gb but use external HD if you are worried about disk space.

Then if you want to replace some files in big using quickbms reimport2 don't use same folder where you extract all files but make new folder and copy files you wan't to reimport in there. for example.

                        *yourfoldername*/nhl/data/kettle/rendering/characters/player/jersey_rbk_edmonton_oil_kings_three_cm.gnf

Select *yourfoldername* in quickbms when reimporting.

Any luck with this, guys? Would make NHL significantly better if we could edit some of the textures - e.g. board ads, removing EA logos etc.

In theory modding NHL PS4 textures is possible now.

Textures are inside .big archive. Extract the archives using:
                            https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm
                            and the script
                            https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/fightnight.bms

Convert .gnf textures to .dds using Noesis https://richwhitehouse.com/index.php...c_projects.php

                            Convert .dds to .gnf
@AndaleO has probably found the converter to convert dds to gnf
                            (AndaleO posted modified texture here:https://forums.operationsports.com/f...3&postcount=21)

Re-import modded files to .big archive is possible using quickbms reimport2 or reimport3 mode and the scripts in this post:

                            Do re-importing files like this:

If you want to replace one or some files in big using quickbms reimport2 don't use same folder where you extract all files but make a new folder and copy files you wan't to reimport in there. for example.

                            *yourfoldername*/nhl/data/kettle/rendering/characters/player/jersey_rbk_edmonton_oil_kings_three_cm.gnf

Select *yourfoldername* in quickbms when reimporting.

Repack game .pkg file with the modified .big files. I don't have instructions for that but you can probably find good instructions somewhere on the internet

I don't have ps4 to test modded textures. But maybe @AndaleO has tried it?

Thanks for providing the instructions above. Do I need to have a jailbroken PS4 to pull some of these files from the game? I have a digital version of NHL 21 on my PS4.

I think you need jailbroken ps4 to allow editing and run game pkgs (fakePkg). Retail games are encrypted so editing those isn’t possible.
