Do you use right stick and the protect puck button to hold the puck away from defenders? With too high puck control you just get one guy skating through a whole team, which is even worse.Comment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
While adding an option for manual passing and a slider for pass accuracy are absolutely needed for 2010, there is a work-around method to perfrom bank passes off of the boards:
Pull back on the right-stick as if you're going to take a slapper -- it doesn't have to be a full wind-up, just a slight movement will work -- and press R-trigger (R2 for PS3ers) along with the direction you want to pass. Voila!
I use it a fair amount in EASHL play to send a banked breakout pass to my teammates. You can also use it to just put the puck into space or your opponent's zone somewhat quickly (with practice) when no one is open for a pass, as well as going D-to-D behind the net off the boards (you probably see this a lot too when watching NHL games). The only downside is that you do need that split-second to initiate the wind-up, but with practice you can get a subtle enough touch on the R-stick that it barely takes longer than a normal pass.
thanks a lot i never knew this.#SimnationComment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
I would really like to see fatigue measured and affect cpu controlled teams more equally.
The passing has already been touched on plenty so no need to add anything there.
I also think that the lift stick is a bit over the top, it should be reworked into a context sensitive "stick check" button. For instance, if you are in a position to lift the stick when you press the button, that will happen, but if you are at an awkward angle pressing the button might make your player use his stick to simply strike or tie up the other player's stick.
I hope they implement it.#SimnationComment

improve hitting, i like that you can crush people. but i should be able to crush people, even if they are protecting the puck.
improve cheap goals, there must be a way to help this problem. fix those damn cheap goals glitches, and shootout glitch for that matter.
i can't think of 5 right nowComment

I like this game a lot. I hope they fix the face offs. And it would be cool to have more celebration going on when you score a goal. Have the real Rinks too. I would love to see the Sharks play their goal score song like it does in 2k.Comment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
1. More player separation. I want Crosby to feel amazing compared to Jared Boll.
This includes skating (lateral movement, quickness of feet, stickhandling, passing, shooting).
2. Better goalies. They're still not close to what they could be.
3. Better puck physics. It still feels pre-determined at times. I want more of a 'loose puck' feel.
4. More board scrums.
5. Better Neutral zone play. At least make the teams play similar strategies to what they are in real life.Comment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
This is strictly from experience with off-line BAP.
1)Improve CPU D-Men AI
--Dmen provide coverage in neutral zone and pokecheck/deny blue line. No more turning to sprint back to middle of circles everytime their team loses posession in the offensize zone.
--When the dmen pass to their dman partner they should use the boards behind the goal instead of making a direct pass. Usually their dman partner is in front of the net and passes directly to them can end up as a boneheaded goal. Give them the ability to reverse the puck.
--Lessen the chances of the flip clear going over the glass in the defensive zone. With the patch there are too many delay of game penalties - particularly true in penalty kill situations.
--When on the PP, dmen at the point should recognize a flip clear sooner. Especially true for the point men opposite the side of the flip clear...they wait until the puck passes the blue line before they start to retreat. Oftentimes this will leave a single dman back vs a forechecking PK forward.
--When at the point in the offensive zone the dmen should be more aggressive in taking a shot. Too often they receive the puck at the point with a defender in front. Instead of taking a stride towards the middle or side to create a shooting lane they take a bad shot or force a bad pass.
--Also when they have the puck in the offensive zone and don't have a good shot/good pass option they should dump the puck in the corner instead of giving up a bad turnover.
2)Improve teammate offensive AI movement
--Too much standing around. They skate to a spot and sit there even if it means a defensive players sits there as well. Have them drive to the opposite side of the net. Curl to the high slot. Drift from behind the net to across the crease.
3)No more one-hand dekes in neutral zone or defensive zone. In the offensive zone on the drive to the net I can see it, even if it is a clumsy 4th-liner. But please no fancy dekes on the breakout or in the neutral zone, especially as the last line of defense puck carrier.
4)Adjust face off percentages
--I've played multiple seasons where my centers have won approximately 33%-38% of the draws for the entire season! An occassional game or two I can understand but that is the average for the entire season. Most worst case situtations in real life are in the low 40s, not below it. Please tweak this to make it more balanced.
5)Create more realistic CPU reaction times
--Too often the CPU players can knock the puck off your stick and pick it up before your player can "find" it. They automatically know precisely where the puck is which leaves the human player at a disadvantage. Maybe they create a slight delay where the CPU looks for the puck (how quickly they find it depends on their offensive or defensive awareness) giving the human players a chance to scrum for the puck.
That's my fave five for now.Comment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
I would like to see major penalties and broken sticks. They have fan shots which is really cool. And the face offs, fix it so you can tie up sticks. Also, it would be cool to have more stick on stick contact. Like holding it down. I love what they have done. Also, better celebrations and have the real music and sounds of the Rinks. That would be awesome. Also, let us chose the color of the sticks and goalie masks, like we can for the gloves. And better ice and have more ice spray. Also, some more animations.
One more thing let us have a crash the net option.Comment

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
Penalties...I just want penalties called in online games. Especially in online team play. I am very tired of people being able to knock you to the ice when you are not even involved in the play.
The worst is when you are standing on the blue line waiting for a teammate to take the puck in, but before he does one of your opponents comes and lays you out and you go flying into the offensive zone for an offsides.
When only 1 out of every 8 penalties are enforced it doesn't deter the A-holes from playing dirty, it actually rewards them. But if they had to sit in the penalty box for 10-15+ mins a game maybe they would stop that foolishness.www.simgamingnetwork.com Come join our leagues!

Re: What 5 GAMEPLAY improvements/additions would you like to see in 2010?
I would want the following improvements;
Better goalie animations - make them less robotic
Better puck physics - more redirections of sticks, equipment etc
Looser passing - so that you can bank the puck off the boards into space
Separate the hook/start fight/slash controls - sometimes I want to hook someone and not start a fight!
Skill levels making more diffence to different players
Player types making more differnce to the way players play
More player types (eg. two way, enforcer, etc)
More penalties and better variety of penalties (I haven't downloaded the patch)
Proper holding penalties
Board pinning and puck battles.Comment

I'll probably start another one or two focused 'wishlist' threads in the coming weeks for other areas of the game to generate some fresh ideas & discussion for Jason...Comment
