Re: The NHL 12 Info Thread

It looks like aggressiveness will actually do something for goalies this year. With that being said, do I really want to shove back? I don't want to be distracted!

I guess what I am trying to say is:

You could put nothing in aggressiveness if you are naturally able to fight through screens

    OR

If you are not very good at fighting through screens, you can increase aggressiveness so you can shove back and kinda clear guys out a little bit..

Yes, if the traits don't make players do the appropriate things on the ice, it won't be much of an improvement. I'm hoping they will have more of an on-ice impact than player types... not sure how much they affected AI tendencies, if at all.

Looks awesome, indeed. I hope you can go back in the game whenever you want, and not only at the beginning of periods and when there are 5 minutes remaining.

That won't be good since I play longer periods.

Remember that it's just the sim engine here, CPU vs CPU. By tweaking the sliders, you will certainly be able to adapt the number of shots for the length of your periods.

                    Fear not,.....

If the AI offence is improved and shot totals are up too high for 10-11 minute periods or longer,.....then we will figure out something with the sliders.

The "new" features will no doubt be exaggerated in how often they occur,......so like stick breaking in NHL11 ,...things will likely have to be set at the lowest possible setting.

I had stick breaking set at 1 for NHL 11,....and it was just about perfect,...other than the stick breaking on a stick lift, instead of a slash.
I see more than enough dropped, knocked loose ,and broken sticks.

With NHL12 I don`t want to see glass breaking in every game I play during season or BAGM mode,.....or in any other mode.

Hitting will probably be overpowered again,....so it will take some testing to find the sweet spot again.

As well,....hopefully the rosters and player attribute ratings will be improved.....NHL11 wasn`t very good, especially the goalies.

I had to edit all the NHL goalies for my offline Season/BAGM......a better representation of skills,....and the goalies were tuned to match up better with the offensive abilities of the cpu and humans.(attribute ratings in general were too low for lots of important attributes for many goalies....and some goalies had ridiculously unrealistically high ratings for skills they were not in possession of,.....like Tim Thomas`s attributes.
I got his overall to a 89-90 by adjusting his attributes realistically,.....not giving him a 90`s across the board.

I don't want to limit the discussion of NHL12 info -- and even speculation to some extent -- but let's keep this thread on the topic of NHL12 info, please.

I love how this pic they chose to show off checks out in the boards.
Bertuzzi is sitting there regreting he had to much beer last night, while the rest of the team are doing collective stick jerking.

Thank you EA - This game is officially better than sex
