Have to say I am a little disappointed myself the Gary and Bill return.

Not that I don't like them...it's just that for me, a new team could really help to freshen things up, imo. I was personally hoping for Doc and Eddie for '13'. But I'll survive.

The lines just need some depth and changing. I wouldn't mind seeing the NBC crew taking over at some point, but really it all boils down to refreshing the lines and updating the commentary in general. It will get old no matter who does it, if the lines remain the same. Still no reason to not buy what appears to be the freshest NHL game since 08.

agree. its just the their lines that i find irritating, lame and lack of substance. specially the comments about NHL "debates" something to that effect, cant remember exactly the lines because i have my commentaries volume to 0.

yes i agree that we need some change...but first thing first....gameplay. and in my case BaGM modes need improvememnt.

Believing the EA hype machine already and again are we? Think I'll wait until weeks after the game is out before coming to any such conclusions, heh. Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying the game at all, and not because of the stale commentary, but because of how stale the entire series is and has been.

I wouldn't say I've completely bought into it, but I'm not completely dismissing it either. Compared to what we've seen hype wise over the last several years, I feel this year we at least stand a decent chance of having improved overall gameplay. That doesn't mean I believe it's gonna be a mind blowing difference, but as Fiddy said, it couldn't be any worse.

Sure stale but by all means when your in the middle of the game you almost don't hear em. There are alot worse announcers. Granted I'm a Bruins fan but Jack Edwards and Brick are awesome. 1 of my least favorite is the guy from Buffalo. This game is going to be fine so go get it and enjoy.

I HATE Jack Edwards. As an Avs fan, I miss John Kelly. Mike Haynes is a great play by play guy, but John Kelly just rocks.

It can get redundant, especially with the asides, but the play-by-play flow is excellent IMO. The commentary has been good enough to fool my older relatives. My uncle kept asking, "Wait, how are they calling the game right now.... Is this live? I don't understand, this is scary to me. Tell me how this actually works."

Number 1. Wtf the **** is wrong with you. The doc is one of the best callers in the games history, the passion he brings to calling games can't be matched.
Number 2. Doc or anyone would be better then Thorne and his side kick Paul bunyan boy.

I said one of the best not the best. His passion of the game seems to make a connection to myself but as you said each to his own.

Call me a "homer " but there is something about almost every national announcer that just rubs me the wrong way. Take all the awards or length of service, to me that doesn't make them good... Anyway my rooted and rom'd Galaxy Nexus is running just beautifully for me and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Back to work crankypants.
