Stanley Cup Celebration
Any chance this was touched this year? It's been pretty much the same since 2004. That's 10 going on 11 years. In my opinion, this NEEDS to be upgraded. It should be user controlled and it should last however long you want. There should be different buttons to kiss the cup, raise it in the air, skate around with it, pass it to a teammate, etc. Then when you're done celebrating and you decide to quit, the players should gather for a picture and it all ends.

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
i think there are many things of higher priority than stanley cup celebrations... when i win the cup i never even watch it. would rather them spend time on gameplay, improving gm mode, improving live the life, having updated commentary (which they are finally working on) the last thing i want them to do is sacrifice more important stuff for stanley cup celebrationsComment

I agree that those you mentioned such as game play and improvements in modes must be in their top lists as well. If they did not change any of the modes and gameplay....the hell with NHL 15.....and i really hope that NHL 15 will be the big failure and RAMJ and other top executives of NHL department be dismissed in this project.Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Calm down, everyone. This is not an area that would take resources away from the gameplay or other aspects of the game. This is handled by a different department and doesn't affect anything else that is being mentioned.
You can have your cake and eat it too. It's just whether or not they have the desire and resources to work on a feature that isn't seen often in the game. I'm sure if you put it on their radar that it is getting stale they will take a look at what they can do with it in time. Regardless, working on this won't take resources away from physics or other gameplay areas from what EA has explained to me in the past.Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
I beg to disagree....SC celebrations must be one of their priorities...... what they are doing is wasting the much needed resources on shirt-puck interactions....19,000 fans that you really pay much attention to it.

well the shirt/puck interaction adds more realism to the gameplay... and you say that "19,000 fans that you really pay much attention to it" kinda makes my point, a lot of people don't pay attention to stanley cup celebration lolComment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Even if the cutscene doesn't change, hopefully with the new consoles they can at least have more than half the team celebrating.Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Of course everyone wants to skip it because right now it's ****ing horrible! New Stanley Cup celebration should be created from the scratch, leave that all behind. And let gamers choose how to celebrate so that action remains fresh. Cut scenes are so old.Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
I would have to assume its been re-done considering the new commentary crew is involved now. I guess they could have just re-recorded some new audio to lay over the already existing cut-scenes again though, that does seem likely.
I'd like to see the ability to have a user controlled celebration with the cup, simply to just enjoy it for a little bit as the player, and then go into a cut scene type celebration like we have now with everyone piling in for pictures, showing some of the upset members of the other team etc. etc.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Even if they do change the celebration, everyone will start skipping it again after winning the cup once. New presentation stuff is only cool the first time around.
Even though the game was due for new commentary, by the time NHL 16 is coming out everyone will be talking about how stale the commentary is because they already heard it all 10 times over from playing NHL 15Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Um...I only play offline BAGM.....I never simulate any games during the season or playoffs...usually takes me about month to get through all the games and hopefully win the cup....after all that effort, I want a spectacular Stanley Cup celebration.....that lasts as long as I want it to last......it is definitely something that I never skip though...even after winning it 5-6 times.....Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
i play every game in season/playoffs aswell, and frankly if i had some interactive cup celebration i could control i would still skip it.
and if they just made a new celebration video that was longer with more players holding the cup i would be annoyed if u couldnt skip it... i play nhl to play... not watch a videoComment

Doubt anything changed. Even the holy grail of sports vid games, MLB The Show, has a boring cutscene after winning the World Series.Comment

Re: Stanley Cup Celebration
Know what I always thought would be awesome? At the end of the Cup-clinching game, I wanted the "broadcast" to fade out, and before it took you back to the menu a "commercial" would start up that would hawk the Championship merchandise that had various gameplay clips of your team in the SCF (if there was a way for the system to cache replays from the series so it showed actual moments with these new systems, that would be AMAZING). "[insert team name] fans, your team are the new STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS! Log on to NHL Shop now for official team championship gear, including the locker room hat and t-shirt!"
I don't know why, but I always thought adding that at the end (in addition to a broader and more epic celebration) would be that little cherry on top that made you sit back and say, "Hell yeah, we did it!"
