    Kind of annoying; I just joined this site and wanted to discuss some of the weird bugs I found on NHL Legacy edition (xbox 360) Live the life mode; now after signing up I find out I can only post a new threat after a "certain amount of time and posts" is complete. Anyway; screw it I'll just post this on the most recent active threat (sorry to the OP, blame the website's stupid 'no new threat' policy.

    Live the life is broken as hell as most of you know; we all know about the crap AI and broken Attributes that will somehow 'zero' out randomly. despite this I am obsessive enough to keep playing, now on my 14th season with a RW that I have at 'grezsky' levels. but I found a new glitch: Hits and takeaways also zero out if you get too high.

    I am not sure of the exact number of takeaways but if you get over 999 hits in a season (I average like 15 a game) it will go back to zero; I am not sure of the number for takeaways but that one also zeroed out for me with only 4 games left in the season. So I went from record breaking hits and takeaways to the lowest in the league with only a few games left.

    The career performance still seems to have it measured correctly; it is only doing this in "Season player stats".

      Well, you are good at swearing!

      I can cite 99% where I can't find the answer to how to make retro shapes, retro logos, retro photos, and retro cyberfaces. This is the minimum I want. And there are also ice, boards, coaches, referees, boards, pucks, spectators, arenas. Which is impossible to create in the NHL on consoles. If you can, help us get through the NHL app development period in a short period of time.

      I'm 65 years old. Where is Your vaunted respect for old and sick people, where is Your vaunted charity?!

        First of all, it does not matter if you are 15 or 65, you are still posting in the wrong thread.

        I mean, yes, sure, if the questions you asked previously were all about modding textures and graphics in the game then this would be the correct thread to discuss it. But then you started derailing the thread with very basic roster editing questions, questions that can be answered by simply reading the other, older threads in this forum.

        Do you understand what i'm saying? Do you understand my point? You are posting in the wrong thread. Please stop posting in this thread. Please do not post again with some strange answer to my post. Please stop derailing this thread.

          Look for the thread "NHL 14 Roster Tools". If you start reading the posts in that thread you will soon understand how it works, and what you can change.

            It's much easier to point out the right topic for my questions than to be so nervous. And the meaning of 15 and 65 you will understand only when you live to this age and get blood cancer in addition, like me!

                  There are several .big files in USRDIR folder.

                  2. Extract nocacherender.big and cacherender.big (include ingame textures) in same folder using Big File Extractor and move extracted files and folders. (rendering/jersey etc) to RPCS3 game USRDIR folder.

                  moving/renaming bigs away from USRDIR game loads files from folder instead of .big. You can do it for all bigs inside USRDIR but it's not necessary if there are bigs you don't want to edit. Don’t touch bigs inside gamedata folder, let gamedata folder as it is.

                  4. Using RX2 Patcher Tool you can convert .rpsgl to .dds and vice versa. Make sure that your modified .dds is same format (dxt1, dxt3...) as in rpsgl and it’s important to generate mip maps for dds also. If you want to compress files (you don't have to compress) use chunkzip compression for rpsgl.

                    I would love to start a project to update the game to have a RPCS3 compatible current season Legacy patch. But at the moment I can't even get the rosters to work ingame... :P

                      Here is a tutorial how to get db out of save file:


                      NHL Base roster file found in cacheboot.big. Extract all cacheboot.big using Big File Extractor and replace db/nhlng.db for the db that you extract from save file (rename save db name to nhlng.db). Then rebuild cacheboot.big or move all extracted files and folders to USRDIR and rename/move cacheboot.big away.

                        So basically I cannot use a roster save in RPCS3 but will need to extract the roster from the save and inject it over the default roster? Is that correct?

                          That’s right. I haven’t tried to use save files in rpcs3 and I can’t test it now because the machine which run the emulator isn’t available to me now. Xbox 360 rgh run default files directly on extracted directory so it should work the same way on ps3/rpcs3.

                              Is it possible to put back higher resolution textures than the originals or would that crash the game?


                              This in combination with reshade and RPCS3 would be an interesting thing to test.

                                I made a player model blender (2.79b) template file to assist making custom uniforms. I built the materials to look almost the same they look in the game using all available texture maps:
                                cm_ = color map texture
                                nm_ = normal map texture
                                sm_ = specular map texture
                                am_ = ambient map texture
                                rm_ = refraction map texture

                                Use Blender version 2.79b. 2.8 and newer doesn't display materials.
                                To use another Team uniform just replace _cm, _nm and _sm textures in jersey, pant and sock folder.
