While holding down the trigger to bring up the passing icons press the icon of the player you want to pass it too. It is very intuitive and easy to do.

I use a combo of icon and analog passing.

I realized I had Manual Passing set to off. I think that's why the icons weren't staying up. I got it working now.

I get that my goalie isn’t rated that highly, but I lost my first game 6-1, and quit out of my next after less than two minutes because I was already down 3-0.

Is he that bad or do the sliders need adjusting after the latest update?

And I just had to quit game 3 in the first. The CPU seems to just score 2-3 goals per quarter in quick succession every game I’ve played and it just isn’t very fun for me.

I’m either that bad or the latest patch jacked something up.

Just got worked by the CPU again 8-2. I am going to start a franchise with a different team. Could very well be the issue, or maybe I need some below average Joe sliders. 😆

If you are using these sliders to a T, try lowering the CPU Difficulty to 0 and see how that goes for you.

If CPU scoring a bit much then but game feels better, lower their shot acc from 50 down to 41.

Below is the box score from last night’s game. I had to quit the match tonight with 6:30 to go in the 3rd period out of disgust once again.

I really do not understand the decision to include stick skills and shooting on the same input. It continues to ruin my ability to play offense.

My other issues are with the abysmal passing. How in the world does the game expect me to be competitive when it routinely passes to nobody when I’ve got an open player with space near me?

And my inability to win more than 4-5 face offs isn’t helping at all. It’s probably on me, for sure, but that damn right stick just does not seem to work for me.

Lastly, why in the world can the CPU skate around freely without losing the puck short of leveling them, yet you get sneezed on and immediately lose the puck.

It just surprises me that even pro level is so heavily skewed towards the CPU’s favor. I have never in my nearly four decades of gaming played a sports game with such a high level of skill required to play even on lower modes.

Kudos to those enjoying the game, but it feels like an exercise in futility to me right now and I am running out of patience.

Man, just bump the difficulty level from Pro to Rookie. Get a feel for the game and its controls.

Or leave it on Pro and try this.

Can't win face-offs? lower the face-off slider to 0 so it favors you. Can't pass? Bump Pass Assist to 100, still having issues, then bump Pass Accuracy to 100.

Start getting a feel for the game and slowly start moving the above slowly back down to where they were. Find your sweet spot.

I will say this, this game is a train wreck sliders/settings wise. So don't feel bad man. Also when you make any changes to sliders, save them, then quit the game and restart it. If you don't do that the changes show up in menu but not during gameplay. After you restart, then go to a matchup make sure you go to the game settings from the screen where it says start game, move the preset to the left or right, then back to the one you had saved. Then start the game.

Thats a must, you don't do it, you won't be playing the game on any changes you made. This alone makes me not want to play, but I always end up doing it anyway.

And I just read that an easier control layout was removed from this year’s game, which would have solved a lot of my problems and learning curve with this game.

Well to be fair the current dev team had no idea about the slider issue until I was able to get a response out of Inglehart because of a video I sent him showing how the values didn't stick. Now that seems to of been cleared up but having to restart still an issue.

This would never happen with FC, Madden, and NCAA. It would ben fixed in a fairly quick manner.

I just was going to ask if you tried the Hybrid control set up. They took it out but brought it back. The only one that left for good was the NHL 94 controls.

Maybe try Hybrid out and see how that goes for ya.

I’ll have to give that a shot. I wasn’t near my PS5 last night, but when I was searching the internet about the controls I saw a bunch of complaints about them being removed.

We have a slider update coming out this weekend. So stay tuned. Basically I can tell you we are most likely having even weighted to both the HUM and CPU now that I have 70 plus hours under my belt with NHL 25.

I also am on the same gameplay tuning from the update before this latest one (the update when we got real coaches). I have held off on the latest gameplay update for now.

I may be in the minority but I love this game.

This game is so damn frustrating. I’m getting better, but finding it impossible to stop the CPU when they go into must score now mode.

They are good for at least one goal a game with that nonsense and it is infuriating since I’m already playing at a big disadvantage due to poor passing and routinely losing face offs [emoji638]-[emoji637]. It’s like the game wants me to stop having fun sometimes.

They got one goal with a few seconds left, and the unstoppable one came with about 3 minutes left, pretty much ending things.
