THat sounds like it makes sense. Shame you're getting crashes right now.

I'm taking the Snowdrift approach: the remade versions of the rosters will place Winnipeg players on Atlanta's squad.

Considering putting out 2 versions of the save, one with the above and one with a custom Winnipeg team.

I've noticed (and this might just be with my updated rosters) the game does not like it when you try to take a custom team through Season or Franchise. so if this persists the Atlanta save will come in handy. It's also not as simple as telling users to do it themselves because transferring players is much trickier in Finn's editor than it is with Snowdrift's editor.

Do you have any clue why this happens? I was hoping to do a season with Winnipeg in place of Atlanta and with Vegas.

I'm not sure why this happens or if it's because of my rosters. I have some testing to do on the original rosters.

The actual crashes in general are because of what Snowdrift said something a while back about the game not liking created skaters and glitches happen because of them.

My remake rosters will not include a single created skater (everyone will be an in-game skater with their head changed to a better likeness) in my hopes to rectify the issue. I want users to be able to play through multiple seasons without issues.

Very cool. I'd be happy with just one

What I'm thinking is that if I'm working with what the game gives me and not creating anything, it should work as if it's the stock game. What I'm doing is really no different from Snowdrift's work on NHL 2K8 (a game in which you CAN play multiple seasons because he didn't use any created skaters)

Just ran some tests. I can confirm the game does not like seasons started with created teams.
Wait so does this mean you have to do ALL your work all over again??!!

Yeah, I made numerous mistakes with the initial rosters. Don't fret though! because with me having pictures of players in-game faces and being able to basically create whole skaters (minus PBP) via editor. Things won't be as slow.

I've added Resources (The newer Finn editor, what I currently have with in-game faces/equipment and a default roster to copy from) to the initial post to help people with making rosters and details to how I do it. I hope this increases the amount of people who may want to work on 2K5 in the future.

I wish I could help but I recently started a new job and I'm still balancing getting into a groove of organising my weeks and time off.

This is why it was important for me to index faces from the game. on the left is Andrew Cogliano, on the right is the face I'm using for him (Rob DiMaio)

The issue was/is you couldn't simulate past the offseason in Franchise and crashes would happen at total random with Franchise/Season. I suspected this was due to Created Skaters/using cut International players.

I've been developing a brand new roster using my new system and Snowdrift's attributes, but seemingly it still crashes despite a created skater never having been made. I'm gonna keep testing but I'm worried this is a death blow for the project.
