He's a tough guy, and he has some skill, but I hate the diving and theatrics and I despise his targeting of non-fighters.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
For sure, he actually has a little bit of a touch around the net and is physical, if he could drop the theatrics and dives and trying to bully skill players I'd have no issues with him. Rather than take a run at a guy just back from a bad concussion why not try getting in Lucic or Thorton's face? Oh wait they'd actually fight back I forgot. Though even though Begin took a penalty for it on the embelished face plant, I absolutely loved that he went right after him in the first period after Carcillo ran at him with the puck stuck in his equipment.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I've been following the playoffs from afar but one thing i've been noticing in watching chunks of the Boston series is that Carcillo has no respect for himself and the game he plays. I love the fact that TSN has been showing the clips of his acting jobs and verbally smacking him down. Bob McKenzie even said that if this continues the NHL might look into supplemental punishment. The league can't be liking this mockery of the game at all.
Carcillo is really playing with fire because if he keeps this up he won't get a call at a critical moment. Philly fans and such will complain bitterly but the one they should blame if that happens is Carcillo himself. I really don't understand this guy's behavior as he's got the skill to be a contributor to the team but he does the most astonishing things that makes you shake your head in disappointment.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

And as long as we're comparing him to Sean Avery, let me know when Carcillo mouths off in the press, or does anything remotely as ******** and disrespectful to the game as Avery waving his stick in Brodeur's face. Carcillo's an agitator, and a damn good one considering the number of penalties he's drawn and goals he's scored recently, but he's got a long way to fall on the class meter before he's in Avery's class.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Other than the Gaborik play (and I know he's the Antichrist because of that), what are you talking about? Assuming you're talking about him jumping Savard, anyone who did what Savard did last night should expect to be pummeled by any member of the opposing team standing around the net. Carcillo just happened to be there.

And what about game 1 when he went after Savard? I didn't see him grabbing any of the larger, tougher players in that scrum.
Also, if you ever heard his interviews on XM you'd know he's a douchebag. He would routinely talk down about certain players and he had a very thick cloud of cockiness about him.
This was all during his Phoenix years when he first broke out and was making a name for himself. Based on his popularity, he was routinely called by the Morning hour of XM home ice.
But his welcome was worn out very quickly. Eventually they dropped his weekly calls. Afterward, Scott Laughlin made a few comments about how nice was not to have to talk with him anymore.
I've never heard any of their personalities really go off or directly attack a player's personality, but Carcillo managed to get under their skin. And they don't even play hockey.
It's not unusual for Philly fans to defend him. That's natural as most fans will back up a team member.
But this guy is a giant douche loser. I'm tired of his diving act. And I doubt we'll ever see him drop the mitts or act tough with Lucic or Chara before this series is over.
Expect him to attack Savard more and more.
P.S. If he's so effective, how is it he's never been past the 2nd round and his team is now down 2-0.
His little face-off jump last night also directly caused a goal against his team.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I also love how you're acting like Carcillo is the only guy in the NHL who embellishes penalties. Where is your crusade against basically every player in the NHL, who drop like they've been hit by cannon fire whenever they feel a stick anywhere near their midsection? Where is their respect for the game? Fight through those checks, you douchebags! Until the NHL cleans up its officiating, which is mostly a joke at this point, players will continue to embellish penalties and they will continue to be successful doing it. To single out Dan Carcillo the way you have is really nothing more than some personal agenda you have against him for....what, being a poor interview and a cocky guy? Wow. What egregious behavior. I can't believe the Flyers even employ someone who acts cocky on the radio and annoys radio hosts (most of whom are idiots themselves). I'm writing them a letter expressing my dissatisfaction as soon as I finish typing this post.
Additionally, and I've explained this to you before and for some reason you fail to acknowledge or grasp it, but he's a different player now than he was in Phoenix, or even last season here in Philly. Take it from me, I hated the guy last year because I saw him mostly as you do now, but he's toned down the moron act and become a valuable player since then. Not that that means anything to you....
P.S. Have you watched playoff hockey before? Agitators and aggressors don't waste their time picking on unskilled players - they go after the players on the other team who are most likely to hurt them on the scoreboard. Look at the beating a guy like Daniel Briere takes on a nightly basis. Why aren't those guys spending their energy fighting Chris Pronger instead? Maybe because Pronger isn't scoring goals in this series.Last edited by Skerik; 05-04-2010, 01:37 PM.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Yeah, with all the team's injuries and with Brian Boucher starting in net, Dan Carcillo is really at the root of the team's problems. If it weren't for Dan Carcillo, Ian Lapperiere and Blair Betts this season, this team wouldn't even be in the playoffs, let alone in the second round.

And the radio interviews are just an example of what a douche this guy is.
I've heard more than one person who's actually involved in the NHL say that he's an a'hole on and off the ice.

I don't recall half the drama surrounding him in Phoenix than what he gets now.
And he got famous IN Phoenix so that tells you he was doing something while in the desert.
I too loved the guy while he was a 'Yote. But since coming to the Flyers he's in a completely different stratosphere.
And I can almost guarantee you that you'd hate his guts if he was on the Pens and you'd probably be writing the same things I'm writing now.

Hitting players in play is one thing. Spearing and trying to choke stars after the whistle is another.
Face it, you love him because he's in Philly. If he were on any other team you'd hate him for the same reasons I'm saying now.
And please, try not to have an aneurysm. I'm not attacking you personally. Surely this isn't the worst thing you've ever heard anyone say about Carcillo.Last edited by Money99; 05-04-2010, 02:44 PM.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I honestly don't know where that effort came from last night after being down 2-0 early. This team hasn't looked the same ever since the Olympics. I'm just waiting to watch the team I saw play great for most of the year. I'll take that win though.
I think the Hawks are 4-0 this year in the playoffs when Burish plays. I like Burish even though he went to Wisconsin."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."
