Come on now the Sharks had some soft calls on them, the Marleau boarding one come to mind. Even Heatley's slash, but oh well we will all just agree to disagree. Bring on today's games

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
At least with Heatley's he raised it above his waist and chopped down. Bertuzzi put his blade on his opponents arm. He didn't chop with it. He didn't make a swinging motion. Nothing. Just a tiny little tap.
I'm not saying SJ didn't play well or didn't deserve the win. But half of the 10 penalties the Wings took were ridiculous.Comment

Okay, I'm sorry for beating this dead horse.
But please, anyone with the time check out this highlight package:
Watch Top Sports Video Highlights – NHL, WNBA, PWHL, MLS, MLB, Tennis & Curling. TSN Game recaps for Canadian fans.
Watch VERY closely to the first highlight of Jimmy Howard making a glove save. After he makes it, Cotoure skates by and Howard gives him a tap on the shins. He got called for slashing.
And that's how the night started and ended for the Wings.
Who here can say this was a legit penalty? And who here can say they've seen this same slash called anytime during this postseason or any game after September?
I'm only doing this to prove that us Wings fans aren't unfairly complaining. The officiating was an absolute travesty last night.
EDIT: My bad. That wasn't the slash. I'm trying to find the one where Howard slashes Thornton. It was just as ridiculous though.Last edited by Money99; 05-03-2010, 11:14 AM.Comment

That's one of the worst calls I've ever seen in my life.Comment

This one's great too:

NOTE: The official who made the call was behind them at the time. He could see it was a push.
You can find one of these in every game, I understand that.
But when you see 5 of these in one game, it makes my skin itch.Comment

No on is saying to not be upset Hank. I just seen some bad calls go both ways. But even Mike said they took some bad penalites at the end. So oh well. I am sure the next game will even thoughs out. And Joe P did not dive he got hooked and try to reach for the puck and fell.Comment

Did you see him go nuts on the bench after one bad call after another?
He certainly didn't go apes**t like McLellan did after Heatley's call.
This will be my last post on the subject. I promise.
But I don't think I have homer glasses on when I say the Wings got a lot more bad calls against them compared to the Sharks. Not even close.Comment

Also, Scott shouldn't reply to every single complaint from a Wings supporter, either. One rebuttal should be sufficient.

Whatever just like Hank, I am done talking about it as of now. Bottom line is bad officiating or not the Wings are down 2-0 and they have to win the next 2 games.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-03-2010, 12:57 PM.My Teams

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Both series feature some unique styles. Van-Chi is a high temp, all offense affair while Beantown and Philly will kill each other.
P.S. All in all, I've been very entertained by the Wings-Sharks match-up. The tempo is awesome and we've seen some very nice goals. Pavelski is sick and both teams are great counterpunches.
I look forward to tomorrow nights game 3.Comment

Refs were bad...Detroit did take some extremely stupid legit penalities too...too many men is never excusable.
I'm sure it will even out in Detroit which is why NHL refs are a complete joke. I'm still in shock that the Devils were whistled for so many penalities in the first round against the Flyers- not that I'm complaining.
Just watch the huge disparity in penalities coming in game #3 in Detroit's favor.
PS- New mathmatical equation is that Big Joe= Pavelski. Talk about clutch.I Want My $2 Dollars

NHL- Flyers

Agreed except for the last part. Go Hawks.
They need to rebound badly. I was in attendance for the first game and it was REALLY crappy. The Hawks need to find a way to score some damn goals to keep up with the Canuck's offense."You got it man. I don't watch hockey."
