Er...

lol k crap goaltending, but really for the pace of the game there has been some highlight saves on both sides. Lu had some big ones in the third. I think both teams just have to much firepower for it to be a low scoring series, toss in Ryan Miller I think the results would be pretty close to the same.

Weird game. This is the way I thought the Canucks would win this series, with a few ugly wins where their offensive depth would make up for some obvious flaws. Felt like a Kings win most of the way, though.

No idea how this series is going to turn out from here. But at any rate, it's nice that Luongo and the Sedins showed a little "testicular fortitude" tonight when the chips were down.

Since we're on the topics of refs, the idea of NHL coaches having a "challenge flag" to force the refs to review a penalty call/non-call (or something else that isn't currently reviewable) is being discussed. Thoughts?

I cannot express how much I detest this idea for a multitude of reasons.

Wow, Bruins have only led for 19:40 this series and are still up 3-1. Talk about clutch, late game goals.

It's a crazy game, eh? As much as I was hoping for a Pittsburgh/Buffalo matchup in the second round -- I've always had a bit of a soft spot in my heart for the Sabres -- PIT/BOS certainly has it's allure as well. But both teams still have one more game to win, so I'd better shut up now before I draw the ire of the hockey gods...


PS - I also cannot adequately express how happy I would be if I didn't have to read another "awful refereeing" comment in this thread. Let's talk hockey!

Carter's done and Gagne is out for a few weeks. FML.

Giroux has to step up even more then he has. Clement was saying how Giroux is the PP specialist and a nice luxury as a 3rd line center. Well, it's time to drop the luxury because he's going to be logging serious minutes now. We're going to miss Carter's shot though... damn it.

I think JVR is primed to break out. He had two, maybe even three chances in Game 4 where he almost split the defenders. He's been buried beneath Richards, Carter, Gagne, Briere, etc and now that he's going to see more ice, he's going to show off his skills. There's a reason he was #2 behind Patrick Kane. I never realized how big and lanky he is, perfect physique for the playoffs. Time to use that muscle!

When Washington emerges from their room across the Bell Centre rink, every Capitals player turns a few quick warmup laps. Not Ovechkin. Not last night, not for Game 3 Monday. Ovie sprints absolute full bore across the ice to the Caps bench, hits the brakes and immediately takes his seat at the end, beside where the Habs' backup goalie sits.

Still, it would have been nice if he gave the kid a tap on the head or tried to stop a little more to his left.
Oh well. Let the battle continue.

That's funny, but your attacks on Ovie would be credible if you and some of the other Pens' sympathizers didn't kiss the ice Crosby skated on in spite of his own questionable behavior.

Not sure how the second-round matchups will shape up after the winners are decided (long way from that) and re-seeding, but I was kinda hoping for a Wings-Kings 2nd round matchup, so I might be able to get to some Wings games out here in La-la land!!! Although the Joe will always be home, it's a bit hard to get back these days...
