Definitely picked a bad couple days to be away from the forums. Assuming the Flyers complete the comeback or Boston wins in dramatic fashion, do these go down as the best two rounds to start an NHL postseason ever? Seems like there have been compelling games and story lines in every series.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I doubt it. The mark of a trapping team in the Dead Puck Era was severely limiting the opposition's scoring chances and shot totals. Trapping teams weren't outshot 18-3 in periods with regularity. In the last 2 series, Montreal allowed more shots and chances than the Devils did over a 10-year span. As solid and smart defensively as the Habs were, nothing short of outstanding goaltending would've won either of those two series.
Also, I think the elimination of the two-line pass after the 2005 CBA has largely neutralized the neutral zone trap as an effective strategy (although it's still possible to do a sort of left-wing lock type defense).Comment

I think it's awesome. He needed a guy like Mario to keep him grounded and to tutor him in handling the pressure and hype that was thrust upon him. I'm glad he was willing and eager to accept that kind of help and I love it that he prefers the family life of the Lemieux household to living the rockstar, club-hopping, entitlement lifestyle that Ben Roethlisberger has chosen.
Think he'll still go back to do his laundry?
I'm salivating at the thought of an Original-Six SC Final. Would be awesome.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
My thoughts exactly.
I was expecting great hockey from both teams for each game. Instead, both teams took turns mailing it in. Very strange.
The Final 4 should be entertaining as all 5 teams left have a nice shine to them.
I have a soft-spot for both the Bruins and Hawks, but I'll be excited for any team that wins the Cup.
I hate how the Wings are out, but at least now I can just sit and enjoy the hockey left without being stressed out.
Good luck to the remaining 5.Comment

I did not realize you guys had 121 points. WOW, that is bad to have that great of a season and get knocked out the first round. I can totally relate with that last year. But still wow.Comment

In one post you say Crosby needs to step into manhood and in the next you take a cheap shot at the person who was trying to make that point. You one up yourself everyday....Comment

Take all that back, that is not why I was hurt, it was the original 6 comment he made. I want the Sharks to go. So I was hurt with him wanting to see the Hawks go.Last edited by Scottdau; 05-14-2010, 04:44 PM.Comment

Also even though this is not what I meant when I quoted Tyler. But mine was real about Sid becoming a man. He is only 22 and it is a good time to start living on his own. His was a dig on Sid. Mine was legit.Last edited by Scottdau; 05-14-2010, 04:52 PM.Comment
