And that's the hump they need to get over.
This is when they're leaders need to show they're willing to pay the price to score goals or come through. I don't see that from Joe or Heatley and I think that's the major problem.

I'd say Ryan Miller, Jimmy Howard, or Rask though while Rask's numbers are really good he hasn't played nearly as many games which will prolly be the main reason he doesn't get it. Breezy over there in Phoenix has a good chance as well.

I say Miller wins it handily, with Bryzgalov and Vokoun as the runners-up.

EDIT: Just saw the Vezina nominees...it's Miller, Bryzgalov and Brodeur. Fair enough.

People are acting as if Marleau is desperate to stay, and the Sharks will "let" him go. He's going to ask for 7-8M per season, and he'll sign with whichever team is stupid enough to give him that.

I don't think Marleau deserves to avoid the ax. He was stripped of the captaincy in the first place; does anyone know why? Seems like either he was being a poor leader, or management was positioning themselves to cut him loose if they came up short again this year. Either way, it reflects poorly on him, and if the Sharks flame out, they shouldn't have much trouble telling Marleau to kick rocks, since he's UFA.

He was stripped of his captaincy because he seemingly couldn't handle the pressure. Since being named captain he had only one better offensive season than this year (05-06 - 34 G - 52A = 86 Pts).

And just looking around google I came across this article.

That guy has zero heart. He's too quiet. He has no intensity. He shows no emotion. He shouldn't be the captain.
