I knew that 4-game suspension would teach him a lesson.

Was this his first game back?

          "sigh"

Then again i've heard from Darren Dreger that if Matt Cooke were available and it was the pre-cap days 20 teams would be lining up for his services.

I dunno whether to be outraged or sad at such a thing.

Shows what you know Timmy. I never have defended Cookes hits from behind. Good one as usual Edwards.

Sad thing is Dreger is right. Don't matter cap or pre cap teams would line up to sign him.

I can't wait to see who Cooke hits from behind next. I hope he takes another semi star out like he did Savard. Just to see the NHL do nothing to him.

I bet he could kill someone and just get 15 games.

Second. Funny thing is he was actually pretty good in his 1st game back, but it doesn't make up for the fact he's a dirty prick.

Better yet, after he hit Bradley from behind, Ryan Craig had to step in and defend him and ended up dropping the gloves. The clown can't even fight his own fights.

All that matters is another Caps win over the Pens.

15??? Are you insane???? If he killed someone on the ice it would be no more than 8 games.
He won't even get a fine for this last dangerous play.

Why would Cooke, or any other edgy player, stop playing that way when the NHL has no interest in stopping dangerous plays. They love it.
Soon the entire league's top 2 lines will be filled with AHL stars. Just in time for that ESPN contract! Good job Gary and Colin!

Was the player injured? Because the genius supplemental discipline system of the nhl factors that in, so if he wasn't i doubt cooke gets more than 2.

Exactly. And because Cooke's victim wasn't hurt, he only got a 2-min penalty.
To be fair, the hit was further away from the boards so it wasn't nearly as dangerous as the Tyutin hit. But this is when the league needs to come in with a heavy hand and let him have it again.

what a great game though last night between the Pens and Caps.. action from start to finish!! the Pens had all kinds of chances to make a play and failed to do so.

could be another e pic playoff series between the 2, if the Pens can get a bit healthy. even with Sid and Gino the Caps are a better team top to bottom.

but with the past history etc, and with or without Crosby, a 4 and 5 seed match up between the two teams would be classic. would be hilarious if the Pens walk in as a 5th seed to Washington and beat them without their stars so to speak lol.. that would send Ted over the edge lol..

Matt Cooke got destroyed by Matt Bradley with a 100% clean hit and then Cooke had an AHL scrub fight his battle for him (Craig got beaten up).

                          Good man.

well, i see a Cap fan posted. again, i would bet anything its about Matt Cooke and how he got his clock cleaned on a nice hit by Bradley.

i was shocked that Bradley was in a fight and didnt get knocked out lol..

last night was a great game. i can't believe all you guys are talking about is freaking matt cooke again! jesus christ, aren't you guys tired of it yet? last night's game was very good and entertaining, and all i'm hearing about is cooke. another playoff series would be terrific against them, and hopefully by then we get at least sid back. i think if we get letestu, sid, and kunitz back before playoffs and not have any other serious injuries, then we can make a serious run. adding neal is so huge. i do give props to shero for that one. if we can get kovalev somehow, then i believe that we can beat boston and philly in a 7 game series.

If the Pens get Sid, Kunitz, Letestu back and add another RW they will be very dangerous. Must be nice to have a GM that will do what it takes to win.

                                *sigh*

Maybe Backstrom's broken thumb (from a slash last night) will force McPhee to make a move for a legitimate center.
