So how many games is Torres going to miss for his hit on Seabrook?

Dude just came back from a four-game suspension and he makes this blindside hit to the head.Comment

I had to laugh at Quenneville's "He should've got a major and we would've scored 4 goals on the PP!!!" comment, however. Wasn't spending half the game on the PP enough for you, coach?Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Yeah Q has no room to complain about the reffing, even with the Torres hit only being a 2 minute penalty the fact stands we had 7 PP's and only scored on 2 of them.
We couldn't do anything even strength, and even with the refs gifting us some calls we didn't do enough on the power play.
The Canucks earned that win in a big way yesterday, a lot of teams would have fallen apart having that many calls go against them but the Canucks didn't let it rattle them, Luongo was phenomenal again and the Canucks took advantage of the chances they got.
Like I said earlier, I really enjoy watching the Canucks play and if the Blackhawks don't find some way to win the next 4 I will be pulling for the Canucks from here on out, they play great hockey and they deserve the Cup this year, they were clearly the best team in the NHL all season and they continue to play that way here in the first 3 games of the playoffs. This has been building into a pretty good rivalry over these past few postseasons but despite that I have a lot of respect for the Canucks (although I'm not a big fan of Torres, and I personally think they're better with Hodgson anyway).
All that being said, heres to hoping Q can motivate the team into just taking it one game at a time, one game series left to play, we face elimination every night, hopefully they will be hungry and I really hope the reffing is a little less lopsided, I'd rather they get eliminated than have a huge discrepancy in calls and make it seem that we can't win without the officials on our side.Favorite Teams:

None. Apparently Rule 48 (blindside shoulder-to-head hits) doesn't apply behind the net, which makes little sense to me. Personally, I would've given him at least another 4 games. Even if it is quasi-legal, it's definitely the type of hit that should be removed from the game. Letting Torres play does the Canucks little good, as it's now more likely that the Hawks will go headhunting themselves.
I had to laugh at Quenneville's "He should've got a major and we would've scored 4 goals on the PP!!!" comment, however. Wasn't spending half the game on the PP enough for you, coach?
Let me add, I only saw the hit in real time a few times over. Haven't gotten to see if Torres was able to pull a Cooke and sneak in a little tucked elbow there...
Just read about Broudreau's comments on MSG. Just shut up, fatty. Worry about your own team, not about the arena's locker rooms, benches, and decibel level. Sheesh. You've got the best team in the East, win a series for once. I guess someone asked him and he just responded but as a leader of a team, you need to just brush that off with a "no comment." Take the high road.Last edited by slickdtc; 04-18-2011, 03:55 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Well the season comes down to this one game for the Bruins. Claude the toad rolls out the same lines as the last 2 terrible games and refuses to play Seguin despite the B's having no offense and being terrible on the power play, 0-7 so far. Ryder straight up should not be playing, he has 2 shots on goal this series and has been useless all season. He's a FA after this year and there's no way he's coming back. I don't understand how playing Seguin just isn't an option he's played power play minutes during the season, he can skate, he's got a great shot he's just young. Their not winning the Stanley Cup this season so why not give him a taste of playoff hockey and hopefully make him that much better for next year.Comment

Big W for the Flyers, stealing Game 3. Regardless of seed, BUF is a tough match-up and they have home ice so I consider it a steal of a game. Pressure shifts to them big time to come through on home ice or it's headed to Philly 3-1.
Glad we've been able to beat Miller after his spectacular Game 1 performance. We're so incredibly deep, it's just ridiculous. Happy to see Carter get 1, Briere knows it's spring time, and Zherdev with his first ever.
Happy for Boucher. He deserved it, he's earned it, and he showed it. He eats up that bottom of the net. They got 2 high on him, nothing low. Seemed like they were really trying to stuff it through him and he held his ground well.
PK was good and had to be. Stopped a 3rd period 2 man-advantage AND a full 4 minute PP. That's big time. Gotta love the Betts' and Powe's of the NHL. Dudes that don't get the play but play the most important roles.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
