1. If nothing but the scores are required, you just sim away in the background while you're doing, you know, actual work or something.
2. If game stories were required (sometimes happened with TP/MVP), you had to watch the whole damn thing but couldn't start until the "normal workday" was over, so about midnight or so. Think I was up to 4am once doing game stories for the simmed 2001 postseason.
3. Make everything up. But I was too stubborn for that.
Plus, of course, in January I'd sim the NFL postseason on Madden during the wee hours to see how it did in the EAC playoff pool. Woulda won one year!Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Strange, I thought the Preds would have a little more zip tonight. Playing rope-a-dope with the Canucks won't cut it long-term; Vancouver's D is several notches better than Anaheim's. Great game by Rinne, though.
As one-goal playoff wins go... this was a lot less stressful than the last one.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Hopefully we'll rebound and come out with some energy on Saturday. At least score a goal or something.Comment

I used to do that kind of thing for EA back in the day. I enjoyed CPU/CPU sims because it was a good way to catch bugs and test in-game logic. It's typically done one of three ways:

But I digress.... tight contest, but I'll be pullin' for the Cats the rest of the way!Comment

It's 1:30am in Vancouver. Shane O'Brien is undoubtedly surrounded by grenades at the Roxy right about now. Just like old times.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. I honestly don't think the Predators will be much of a match for Vancouver. I thought the Canucks might have a letdown tonight after the euphoria of Game 7 against Chicago, but they didn't, and if it weren't for Rinne standing on his head, they would've won 5-0.
Nashville just doesn't have the firepower to get through the Canucks' D and Luongo, and their defense can only carry the burden so far before Vancouver's offense breaks through.
Definitely sticking to my Canucks in 5 prediction. I think Vancouver's going to steamroll their way to the Finals, actually.Comment

Yeah, I believe it's down to this, or the Preds win this thing in 7 games. I don't think there's an in-between. Either they march to the Finals as the team we saw all season, or it's back to the drawing board a la the Capitals of the past few years.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I'm taking the middle path. Vancouver beats the Preds, but loses to the SJ/DET winner in 6 or 7. I think against the Wings or Sharks is where the absence of Malhotra will really hurt. I reserve the right to change my mind after the 2nd round, though.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
