If its not Semin who goes AWOL in the playoff its Backstrom 4 years running. New York had no offense. Tampa isn't New York and the Caps better wake up before its too late. Not to mention the anemic power play or the pathetic penalties they are taking.

Re: The Official 2010-11 Stanley Cup Playoffs Talk Thread
The issue with the Red Wings is that at this point, they are who they are and they can't change that. What they are is a puck-possession, largely finesse team that relies on skill to make plays. Unfortunately for us, the Sharks are the same type of team, except they also have speed, size, and youth, and do what we do much better than we do it. It's a match-up nightmare for the Wings, but there's really nothing we can do about it - a tiger can't change it's stripes (and certainly not in the post-season).
I feel like had we drawn any other team, we'd match-up favorably, but this Sharks team just has our number. The games are 1-goal games on paper, but as anyone who has watched the games would attest, the Wings are being outclassed in pretty much every facet of the game. That being the case, I envision no situation in which we can win this series. We may get a game for pride, but in the end, this is going to be the same result as last year. Not sure what we need to address in the off-season more: fast and physical defenseman or younger scoring talent...Comment

That's Boudreau's thing; he has no filter and in his mind, calls it like he sees it. Some like it, some hate it, but that's who he is. I kinda like it, because he doesn't mince words, but on the other hand, you probably shouldn't dress down your players in public (except Ovie...I love it when Boudreau gets pissed at him). He reminds me a bit of Grapes, but less jingoistic about his hockey (maybe by necessity). He may have a future in the CBC booth beside Ron McLean, saying stuff like "You kids at home, this is how you want to play defense....".Comment

Whoaaaa Bolts! Man, I really thought the Caps were ready to make their big run, but down 2-0 with the first two losses at home... I don't know. There's still time but you only get one more blemish, Washington.
Flyers/Bruins tonight, Philly needs it just like Washington needed it. Not over but it'll be a hell of a hill to climb back from. No 3-0 comebacks this year, you can't count on that. Well, I mean...NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

This series is far from over. The Caps will get their act together. I don't know if they'll claw all the way back, but they'll make it a series.Comment

Definitely did not expect the Lightning to start the series off like this. I could tell they were rounding into form towards the end of the first round, but completely expected the Caps to bring them back to earth.
Obviously, the next game will be HUGE. Hopefully they can come out strong at home, and cruise to the conference finals. It's been a little while for lightning fans, but man... I forgot how much fun it is to watch the playoffs when your team is rolling. Now, more than everComment

Boucher gets the start for the Flyers tonight. I say good. If Bobrovsky would've impressed, I'm sure he would've started this one. I like Bouch, and the whole team (especially defensively!) to bounce back in a serious way.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
