Probably, but just to laugh at the fact that a Wings WCF ticket + flight to DET + DET hotel will be cheaper than simply buying a WCF ticket here. I'm pretty much broke these days. Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final was the only game I've been to in the last 2 seasons, and that was $450 for standing room ($210 face value). In contrast, my next NHL game will be Sharks/Stars in Dallas on March 8th. The Stars release 700 nine-dollar tickets each gameday. Hilarious.

Wow the wheels are falling off for the Hawks. They don't even resemble an NHL team anymore. It looks like they have no idea what they're doing.

According to ESPN.com, this rather odd-sounding altercation occurred in the 1st period of CHI/SJ:
              11:09
Sean O'Donnell: 2 Minutes for Roughing Joe Thornton
              11:09
Ryane Clowe: 2 Minutes for Roughing Sean O'Donnell
              11:09
Duncan Keith: 2 Minutes for Roughing Joe Thornton
              11:09
Joe Thornton: 2 Minutes for Roughing Jonathan Toews
              11:09
Jonathan Toews: 2 Minutes for Roughing Andrew Desjardins
Kind of sad, really. Don't you hate it when you rough someone, but they don't rough you back?

I think I scared a few people in the restaurant tonight when I screamed after that goal. What a great play that was.

Avs have played some solid hockey the past week. I hope they can keep it going.

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread

If this turns out to be true....

The NHL is reportedly scouting Winnipeg's new Investors Field as a possible site for a potential outdoor Heritage Classic game.

A source told the Winnipeg Free Press that the league has contacted Environment Canada for data on Winnipeg weather patterns for January and February.

The Free Press noted that MTS Centre chief engineer Derek King was a key contributor to ice-making operations for this year's Winter Classic in Philadelphia.

The CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers are moving into the new stadium this season.

The NHL said last fall that Winnipeg would be good location to host a Heritage Classic. True North Sports and Entertainment chairman Mark Chipman discussed a possible outdoor game with the Free Press last month.

"If the opportunity came along, it's something we would certainly explore. But it's not something we're looking to do next year by any stretch," Chipman explained. "I don't even know when the next (Heritage Classic) would be available. I think people would be very enthusiastic (in Winnipeg). The Heritage Classics have been big successes whenever they've been held."

A game in Winnipeg would be the third Heritage Classic. Edmonton hosted Montreal in the first game in 2003 at Commonwealth Stadium, and the Flames hosted the Canadiens at McMahon Stadium in Calgary a year ago.
at the league contacting Environment Canada for Winnipeg's weather patterns in January-February. All they need to know is three words regarding that: Cold As ****.

Our defense is atrocious...we need Suter or Weber in the worst way.

Kings should really trade Bernier and get some offensive help. They shouldn't average 2.1 goals per game with the talent they have, Quick played amazing again and still got the loss.

I believe Quenneville's on the hot seat now. You can't possibly play any worse than Chicago has in its last 8 games. There's been no response at all.

Huge swing for the Sabres today. Could have been six out but now bunched up, fourteenth place and still at eight out of eighth.
