I'm not sure if I'm keen on squeezing 82 games in if they happen to get a deal done and start at the beginning of November.

The more I read the more Fehr is balking...
I can't stand when we keep putting out the same tired names (like Fehr's) to deal with this kind of stuff. These guys will run around in circles, maybe for months, and often come back to where things started. I get it's about "negotiations" - but Fehr is a tired voice of the past, and everytime I see his smug picture it makes me want to vomit... I'm not a Bettman fan, but I feel at least he's pushing the owners to get this done...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I hear you. I met Fehr once, and he made my skin crawl. As far as Bettman goes, it sounds like NBC started applying a bit of pressure. The more I read the more Fehr is balking...

My prediction is that this goes back and forth for awhile (posturing demands as much), but a deal gets hammered out (not in time to get in a full season, though). 50/50 split stays (assuming both sides agree what HRR is), but the owners give back the year of UFA they wanted to take away, and the contract length limit goes from 5 to 6-7 years. Reduction of entry level contracts will remain because players never give a **** about rookies. 2014 Olympics and realignment will be a go.

To channel the Iron Sheik, Donald Fehr is a no good lowlife jabroni mother****er, worse than the Gary Bettman.Comment

Has there been any talk about realignment? I'd more more inclined to watch Stars games if they didn't start at 9 all the time in California.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread
The Stars have almost no place that would be a good spot for them. Technically the central would fit them, but screw all the other teams in the central.
The Wild should be in the central.
None of this would be a problem if the Jackets and Wings were both moved to the East.
Oh, and none of this matters since Fehr is hell bent on cancelling the season.Too Old To Game Club

*shrug*
I'll still be surprised if the season is lost. Fehr would have no issue with wrecking 2-3 seasons... if he thought he could "win". I don't think he can, and I think he knows this.
IMO we're still 8 weeks away from the point of no return. I won't believe the season's done until I hear the Winter Classic's been cancelled.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread
more posturing... it's the nature of "negotiations" - so any thought the players would just accept this offer was ridiculous. my concern is Fehr - the man is very much about himself, and he's got this "tough guy" reputation to uphold. remove some of the key players (also known as idiots) out of the room and this deal would be done. this will turn into a pissing contest - you watch....STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread
One thing Fehr is known to do is to drive such a hard line that it becomes a staring contest. We've seen Bettman be exactly the same in his negotiations. This may all be posturing but I can see this getting ugly really fast.more posturing... it's the nature of "negotiations" - so any thought the players would just accept this offer was ridiculous. my concern is Fehr - the man is very much about himself, and he's got this "tough guy" reputation to uphold. remove some of the key players (also known as idiots) out of the room and this deal would be done. this will turn into a pissing contest - you watch....
Donald Fehr has never "lost" a labor deal so I don't see him backing down from his core issues which is bad news for fans unless the star players start to get antsy and stage a palace revolution.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
