I completely understand what you are saying about basketball. I was an emotional, ardent fan as a youngster through the 80's, but that soon changed with those apparent elements of which you speak. I followed hockey during those years, but only marginally. My interests piqued as basketball easily fell off. The ultra-drama of the NFL hasn't helped either, though it is the mega-giant not to be soon undone by all of the ugliness. At this stage, if there are 2 types of athletes I appreciate, it's what those guys can do with a puck on skates and what a guy can do to a round ball with a round bat.

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Corey Crawford just got put on notice with the call up and signing of Scott Darling. I'm rooting for Darling to take over the number 1 spot, because for one, I don't like Crawford, and two, it'll shut up a ton of these phony fans we have in Chicago.
The guy helps them win a Cup, and that automatically means he's on a 'God' level to these people. Dammit, those "fans" piss me off.
EDIT: Yes, I'm well aware the defense is playing like crap. Doesn't take away the fact that this dude has been horse****. Oh, and getting blackout drunk in the middle of the damn season doesn't help either.Comment

With Buffalo long out of the playoff mix, I'm officially jumping on the Predators bandwagon. It would be nice to finally see a smaller market team make a deep run. Plus having Rinne and Forsberg on my fantasy team makes me pay closer attention to their games.

7 years, 5.5 AAV for Leddy seems like too much. Years, and cap hit.
Good for him, though.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Leddy is a top 2 dman on the Isles and has the 3rd best Corsi For % at 5v5 in the league. I'd say it's a pretty good deal.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment

By my count, the Canucks now lead the 2011 Stanley Cup Final 7 games to 5. Only one game to go!
It's a best-of-15 series, right?
