I think everything finally clicked for him. We've seen the potential he's had since he moved back to defense in Atlanta. He's more or less the face of the franchise now, and one of the leaders of the team. Just part of growing up I suppose, the dude is only 29.Comment

What the hell is going on here? Washington is playing Pittsburgh, and ****ing Buffalo @ New Jersey is on NBCSN. Are these TV schedules set all the way before the season or something? Nobody's interested in this ****ing game. GTFO.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Even if it was set in advance, who puts Buffalo-NJ over Pittsburgh-Washington?
Even for Canadian scheduling, Hockey Night in Canada. Despite the new deal which allows multiple Canadian teams to play on Saturday night and entire country is able to watch their games, the scheduling for those games suck.
You have Leafs getting to play teams like New York,Boston,Detroit and stuff on these Saturday games. Meanwhile you have Montreal facing Florida,Columbus and stuff on the same night. And Leafs are the one getting the main network for these games. Even as a Leaf fan, I think that's stupid.
Saturday night is the main night for Canadian hockey,so why can't all Canadian teams be playing meaningful opponents that night? And not just that, but the deserving team gets the main network? After all, aren't national broadcasted games the thing that gets scheduled before anything else?Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
The national TV scheduling was set in July.
Since national TV can be blacked out by local TV I don't think there are a percentage of games that can't be on national tv like there is for baseball so my guess is tonight was just timing since the Penguins were just on NBC Sunday.

As ridiculous as it is for my ****ty *** team to be on NBCSN when Washington/Pittsburgh is on, it's also great that it's not always like the NBA where only five teams get national TV games.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Yeah, don't we usually complain about the same teams getting the NBC slot?
Although Buffalo did just host the Flyers on Saturday night on NBCSN... They actually do a good job of switching it up.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
It does always seem to be the same rotating cast of teams on NBCSN (some combination of Philly, Pitt, NY, Chicago, Detroit), but at least once in a while a non-marquis team makes it. I mean, I can't even remember the last time the Pistons were on any national TV NBA broadcast. It's been years. Although to be fair, until the recent Stan Van Gundy era, I can't imagine anyone wanting to inflict that kind of pain on themselves by watching that collection of sullen, disparate chuckers masquerading as a "team" of some sort....Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
As much as I bag on Sportsnet, I must admit they do a pretty good job of cherry-picking the best US matchups. If the NBCSN game's a good one, they show it. If it stinks, they pick up the local broadcast of a better game (ie, WSH/PIT last night or NYR/NYI the night before). The only downside is when there are a bunch of Canadian teams in action, like tonight. I'd much rather see Wings/Hawks than Sens/Habs, thanks.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. As for why there seem to a lot of Sabres games on NBCSN, despite the fact that everybody knew they'd stink this year: ratings. They draw pretty well despite their craptitude.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Shaping up to be a great vezina race between Price and Rinne. Rinne was outstanding last night, just truly dominant. Price had been UNREAL the past couple of games as well. Who has the edge so far?Phoenix Coyotes
Buffalo Sabres
Edmonton Oilers
Yes... It is a struggle.Comment

Rinna for the Vezina, Price for the Hart.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment
