Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
John Moore offered an in-person meeting. 6+ games incoming.
It should be at least 10 if they want to send a message.Comment

Everyone should check out that box score, BTW. There's not a single Hooking/Holding/Interference/Tripping call. It's all Roughing, Slashing, Fighting (4 fights by my count), and Misconducts. Tim Hunter gets tossed less than 2 minutes in for a spearing major, Jim Kyte gets a 5-min match penalty for an eye rake, capped off by Gino trying to give MacInnis an appendectomy. Remember this the next time someone says "there's no respect in the game today".
Also, I'm pretty sure this was the last time a Canucks D-man had a hat trick.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. I"m sure this was reported on here but apparently the word around town here in Toronto is if the Leafs lose tonight then Randy Carlyle will be fired.
I have a feeling even if he isn't fired right now that the writing is on the wall. Carlyle doesn't fit the new management team's profile of what a coach should be.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
I highly recommend DGB's Grantland column today, BTW. Bure's elbow on Churla is the greatest star-on-goon violence of all time.
Also included for your pleasure is the most egregious non-call I've ever seen. (Start watching video at 3:00.) Flames/Oilers, Game 3 of the '88 Smythe Final. Marty McSorley spears Mike Bullard (just as he jumps off the bench!) in the family jewels so hard that McSorley's stick breaks and Bullard is hauled off on a stretcher to the hospital. Bear in mind that no penalty was called, the Oilers scored on the play (and went on to sweep the Flames and win the Cup), this was a playoff game, and Bullard was a 100-point scorer on the league's best team.
(McSorley was suspended 3 games and thus didn't qualify for DGB's list.)

Kinda wish that he isn't fired, since so far we are in McEifin race. And I'd be really inclined to do the tanking.
On a more serious note, Randy changed our lines, so we'll play Lupul-Kadri-Kessel, JVR-Bozak-Clarkson tonight. Weird, old dog is learnign new tricks.
And Dr. J, what about Hunter, you don't think he'd be next GM for Leafs.(since I think that Dubas will be assistant for few years, he is still a little bit too young for MLSE to be a GM)..Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Possible, but Blake and Shanny are pretty tight, and Blake's currently getting some Assistant GM reps with LA. Hunter seems ideally suited to concentrate on the amateur scouting and player development side of things.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Amazing. I assumed that was a photoshopped strip, so I looked for it in the Adam archive and found this: http://www.gocomics.com/adamathome/2011/05/28Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
