Chicago is ****ed.
This will hurt teams close to the cap with minimal prospects more than it will hurt Chicago.Last edited by IlliniM1ke; 11-09-2014, 05:30 PM.Favorite Teams:

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
The most impressive part of Nashville's 9-3-2 start is that they've won all these games despite having the 30th ranked special teams.
They've got 1 goal in 18 power plays and have allowed 6 goals during 18 penalty kills.
Their 1.86 goals for/against during 5 vs. 5 play, however, trails only Pittsburgh (1.88).Last edited by jyoung; 11-09-2014, 05:39 PM.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
I'm looking to buy a Flyers jersey for my girlfriend for Christmas, and her two favorite players are Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek. I'm leaning towards Simmonds simply because he's under contract for like 4 more years. Is there any reason to worry about either of them not being on the team for the considerable future? I'm not as familiar with the salary cap in hockey and stuff. Would they ever need to trade Simmonds to clear space or anything like that?

Obviously it's impossible to predict how things will play out a few years down the road, but I'd say Simmonds is pretty secure in PhillyUniversity of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Simmonds just got an extension I think, and he's wearing an A for the Flyers now so I would expect him to be around for a decent while.
Voracek is probably the better player, and I think he's under contract for a bit longer (then we signed him longer term after a year or two here). He might end up becoming too valuable for his contract and depending on the cap situation, end up signing big elsewhere.
For the immediate short term (next 2 years), they're a good bet. Behind Giroux, they're the least likely to be traded from the team.
Your girlfriend has superb taste in hockey teams! Flyers games are awesome.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I think with Homer being marginalized that Simmonds and Voracek would be pretty safe. Especially Simmonds since he fits that Flyers mold of player.Comment

Meh. This team doesn't deserve to win.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment
