Problem is, that first group of players (except Bozak) don't carry much in the way of a combined cap hit, and Bernier and Kadri are RFA in June. Can't rebuild without cap space. Toronto needs to move at least two of their big ticket (4M+) players, probably more.

I just saw a linesman call icing when the puck didn't even end up crossing the goal line. And then the other glue sniffers didn't even correct it by having a faceoff at center ice.Comment

Flyers have made playoffs all but 2-3 of the past 20 years.....sure they haven't won cup in decades, but still at least make playoffs(and made it to cup finals in 2 of those past 20 years), so i wouldn't put them in that category at all.
NFL comparison, I'd say 2000s Cowboys=Leafs/Knicks. "Americas Team" yet have only made playoffs in 5 of past 15 years, but are still getting the big tv slots. And if Romo was doing what he does,on a team like Miami,Arizona or something like that, prob wouldn't be criticized nearly as much. So that sounds just like Leafs/Knicks.Last edited by Majingir; 02-12-2015, 11:28 PM.Comment

Has there been any word yet on how badly Tyler Myers was hurt after blocking the Shea Weber slap shot at the end of the Jets/Preds game?
That would stink to have Myers seriously hurt in his first game with Winnipeg.Comment

I'm surprised a Weber slapshot hasn't killed someone yet, honestly. MPH aside, I'm not sure I've ever seen a harder shot than his. What he did to the net in the Olympics in Vancouver defied reality.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Kessel is a great player, but I don't know if he's worth two upper end prospects and a first round pick. Depending on what team he's going to, the first round pick would obviously vary in value. Either the Jets or Sabres were supposedly interested in Kessel (I don't remember which one exactly), but it said that Kessel's streakiness, character, and fitness level were all major questions surrounding him which ultimately led the team to decline to trade for Kessel. Sure Kessel is great, but he has his fair share of negatives and distractions as well. I doubt the Leafs go into rebuilding mode, however, as I don't think Nonis wants to be known as the guy who gutted the team.
I guess you're used to your team getting fleeced in deals, though.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment

FF to 3:30 for the only footage I could find of MacInnis breaking Mike Liut's mask, giving him a concussion, and scoring, on a shot from outside the blue line.

Ah, the old Don Cherry VHS tapes. There were a couple of them at the local video store, and I rented them multiple times. Eventually the owner (who was also my bus driver) just gave me one of them for renting it so many times.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 02-13-2015, 03:37 AM.Comment
