      Habs fire Bergevin.

And in true Habs fashion, his replacement must speak English and French. So there goes most of the qualified people for a GM job.

Honestly, I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. That cup run was an anomaly.

If I'm Montreal, I'm looking at Mathieu Darche. Director of Hockey Ops of the Lightning since 2019. Also fills the Francophile quota.

That’s pretty cool. Philly is in the lead for any non-O6 teams, but still a cool 1000 wins away from 3k.

And just like that, Blackhawks back in the news.

Now their response to the Beach controversy is that the statute of limitations expired, therefore the case should be thrown out.

What a joke of an organization. And the NHL really feels like they've been punished enough?

Some interesting news on Olympic participation.

They're still not fully on board with going, but new info given in meetings this week could be the deciding factors on if guys want to go.

I do wonder what happens if they say no. Who participates in the Olympics on such short notice? And does the regular season schedule immediately get changed?

Officially no NHL players going to the Olympics.

We'll likely have a revised schedule coming up soon with those 2 weeks filled with games. I'd imagine most of those 2 weeks will be games we've seen postponed so far.

Flames are pulling out of their arena deal.

I hope it doesn't lead to relocating. Of all the Canadian franchises, I like them more than anyone that isn't the Leafs. Great fanbase and as old as it is, I liked the saddle dome.

Hopefully they can find a new deal. Battle of Alberta is one of my fave matchups in hockey.

Bummer but I get it. At least now there's officially no reason to watch the Winter Olympics whatsoever (in addition to the 50 other pre-existing reasons).

I can't even fathom the Flames relocating, but I guess I've seen everything at this point. Watch them go to Scottsdale AZ to be a second tenant in a new hair-brained scheme of an arena tenant plan in Phoenix....

                          Don't give them ideas.

"We can't have an arena built just for the Coyotes, it wouldn't work."

Bettman: What if we have an arena built for the Coyotes AND the Phoenix Flames!

Do all assists count the same? For example, if one player has 10 first assists and another has 10 second assists, are they considered both to have 10 assists? Or do the offical record books keep the separated?

I'm sure there's sites which will dig deeper and actually say who has first and second assists, but for official stats, it's just counted the same.

So they're both worth a point essentially? Thanks for the response. I'm a hockey newb trying to better understand the game
