    Re: NHL Off-Topic thread

I really want to believe the news of Stombo's firing on Fathers Day weekend wasn't a coincidence.
I want to believe this was a Fathers Day gift from CTV/HNIC to all the Dad's across Canada.

Truly this is a great day to be a HNIC fan.

I'm sure Strombo will be fine. He made lots of money so he can purchase all the thumb-rings, earrings and skinny suits his heart desires.

So long Strombo. You will not be missed.

Strombo's annoying, but far from the biggest problem with Sportsnet's NHL coverage. You want my attention? FIRE GLENN HEALY.

The official schedule of the NHL including date, access to tickets, TV network, and video highlights.

NHL schedule is out for the season. Stanley Cup rematch comes October 20th. Season begins October 12th, which is the latest start date of a regular season in NHL since the original 6 era.

I'm going to have my Wings fancard revoked, but I'm starting to become a fan of the Leafs.
Looking forward to seeing what's ahead over the next few seasons.

7 hours away from the draft. Can't wait to see not only those new jerseys, but Matthews putting it on!

And Pens made jersey change official today.

A team that looks and plays good...will be fun to watch.
(the jerseys incorporate various little details from many decades of Leafs history. Everything from a quote in the 20s, to looks from the 60s,70s,80s,90s,00s all added into this one look. Now that's how you do a rebrand. They're even putting emphasis on the old "play for the name on the front, not the back" phrase. No shoulder patches, and the front logo is bigger, to put that extra emphasis on the crest)

Not a huge fan of the stripe on the pants, but I like them.

I wonder if this was the look the Lightning were going for when they changed their uni's a few seasons ago?
A more 'classic' or simple look to mirror the Original 6 teams?
They remind me of a mix between the Wings and Leafs.

About time. I hated how he was around for basically every Leafs hnic game, but acts so bitter towards franchise every time. So annoying listening to him every game.

I hope nobody good gets fired. From Leafs standpoint, bring back Joe Bowen! He was moved to Sportsnet radio, but for so long, was my fave local broadcaster on TV.

Damion Cox and Cory Hirsch are gone as well.

I really like David Amber doing the late-night game.
I think he'd do very well as MacLean's replacement as well.

I haven't seen Damien Cox's name mentioned in the firings however PJ STOCK IS GONE!!!!

I agree with you about Amber. He's a good solid on-air talent and will do well in 3-5 years time when MacLean's gone.
