Pittsburgh is in a tough place cap and asset wise, it certainly won't be easy for them to pick up an upgrade over Jarry. While Mike Smith was perfectly serviceable for the Oilers, I'm sure they'll look to improve. Would not shock me if Seattle tries to set up side deals where they draft a goalie and then flip them to one of these two teams.

I could see Andersen being an option in FA for them.

Pens are definitely getting a 3M+ player taken in the draft.

I'm willing to bet Pens end up with MAF. Last year in his contract, Vegas sheds some space to go all in on a big name (Eichel).

Vegas would probably be the best team in the league if they had a 1C.

I'm sure nobody expected Vegas vs Wild to go 7 games.

Depending what happens tomorrow, that could be the only game left in round 1.

We could have round 2 schedules announced as early as tomorrow!

It’d be nice to reunite the gang for one last run at another Cup before the massive rebuild begins.

Wonder how these last four postseasons would have gone with MAF. In hindsight, exposing him to Vegas looks really bad. But keeping Murray over him was a no-brainer four years ago.

I think MAF needed the change in scenery. I also think he would have been unhappy sitting behind Murray and as such, would have never had the career resurgence (not to mention the cap implausibility). Pittsburgh made the right move both times to jettison their goalies. The issue this season was not having a good enough backup for Jarry.

Three of the four playoff series the Wild has won in their history have been game 7's. This Vegas team always seems to disappoint in the big moments.

Tonight's the first time since 1987 that the Leafs have a shot to win a series when up 3-1.

They haven't actually won a series up 3-1 since the 60s.

A sight we didnt think we'd see, Tavares is already back skating! Exactly a week to the day of the injury that looked career threatening.

Such a nice story from Spezza how he mentioned that he came over and started talking to Tavares to help him out so he could hear a familiar voice when all the doctors and others were attending to him and he probably wasn't even aware of anything happening.

NHL with their quick breaks between rounds.

RD2 begins Saturday. Hopefully RD1 is done before then.

Whoever wins Vegas/Wild tomorrow has 1 day off.

Either we're about to see double booked Denver pt2 (last time was when Denver booked WWE on same night as an eventual Nuggets game), or Avs will have a 2 day break between home games. Don't know why they didn't just have gm1 on Monday since gm2 is Wednesday anyways.

Not even first commercial break yet, already 2-0 Habs.

I guess Leafs really want to play infront of fans on Saturday.

                      Edit:

Down 3-0 in the 2nd, Leafs manage to tie up the game. Now going into OT. Leafs are literally a goal away from advancing. This would be their biggest comeback in modern history. Hard to top a Bautista bomb or Kawhi buzzer beater, but a Leafs OT goal to complete the comeback and eliminate the Habs would be up there.

Literally giving away the puck and letting them get a 2 on 0 to win it in OT.

The old Leafs are slowly coming back.

They better finish off the series on Saturday. Don't know if I can come back again if there's another first round game 7 loss.

Marner in the last 2 playoffs has been horrible. He hasn't even scored once. Matthews can't seem to score somehow either.

Coming back from a 3-0 deficit in Game 5 and eliminating a hated Canadian rival in OT is quite satisfying, I seem to recall.

This is one reason why I earlier in the season questioned Marner and Matthews getting 22 minutes while Nylander was playing 16. Marner and Matthews goes into the playoffs much more worn out than they would need to be when Toronto has a second line good enough to play much more.

The same could have been said for the Edmonton stars aswell that didn't do as much as was needed from them in the end. Edmonton did not have the luxury of a Nylander/Tavares caliber player on the second line though in their defense.

I hope Toronto trade Nylander to a team that actually appreciate him. The guy actually has a senior trophy and a senior scoring title from the world championships. Currently has a better world championship pt average than Gretzky. I think he could be a potential 100 pt player for another team.

Edit: Marner averages 24 minutes. Has 4 assists. Nylander averages 16 minutes and has 4 goals and 3 assists. When these two guys had the same ice time back in their rookie days Nylander had atleast as many points. But one of them is not canadian...

Someone needs to tell the Leafs that their gm6 gameplay should just be to shoot. They have a pass first mentality that has reached its breaking point.

Over passing has led to them killing their own PP time, allowing shorthanded goals, and now costing them one of their most important games in OT.
