Time zones definitely has a big impact.

Basically anywhere else, even if it's a 5-7 hour difference(8-10 on west coast), it's still tolerable. Afternoon events are morning here, night events are afternoon.

But when you're in places where games are 11pm ET or 8am ET, people are less likely to watch.

The next few will be better. Italy and France with a 6 hour difference (9 on west coast) and then LA after that.

Hats must be pricey in Winnipeg. Mark Scheifele had a natural hat trick at home in front of about 12,500 fans and on TV it looked like there were maybe four hats thrown on the ice. C'mon, Winterpeggers you can do better.

          How about womens hockey?

Despite it technically being a 1 goal game, it didnt have the same feel the last few had, but then again, its tough to compare.

98 was the first ever tournament

          02 was in USA

          10 was in Canada

14 had the crazy Canada comeback and US missed empty net off the post

          18 finished with a shootout

So while this year was a 1 goal game, it was really just 3-0 and then 3-1 for the longest while.

Although...Canada had a part near the end where they iced it, and it looked almost the same as how US missed the empty net goal in 2014.

Maybe the most un hockey thing I'll ever say, but if I'm at a game and someone scores a hat trick, I'm keeping my hat. I'm real picky about the hat I wear and despite all the diff styles, some I can never find again that look even 99% like the one I have.

Always kind of wondered why Pekka Rinne got let completely off the hook for his horrendous choke jobs against the Penguins in 2017 and the Jets in 2018. He single-handedly cost the Preds one Cup, maybe two, but nobody ever really commented on it, both at the time and later. Nice guy off the ice? The benefits of playing in a non-hardcore hockey market?

I wouldn't call the Pens series a choke job.

3 of his 6 starts were good enough to win the game. Pens won 2-0(EN goal) in the deciding game in Nashville where Rinne stopped 27 of 28 shots.

GM1 was bad though, but that was about it. No other game you could look at and say the Preds would've won if Rinne was slightly better.

Remember, the Pens were exhausted after the Ottawa series.

Game 1: Nashville outshoots Pittsburgh 26-12, loses 5-3

After giving up 3 goals late in the 1st period, the Preds didn't allow a shot on goal for THIRTY-SEVEN minutes, and Rinne allows the winner on the 1st shot he faces in almost 2 periods

Game 2: Nashville outshoots Pittsburgh 32-16 through 2 periods, lose 4-1

Rinne gives up 3 goals in the first 3:28 of the 3rd and gets yanked

Nashville badly outplayed Pittsburgh in the 1st four games, and only won 2 of those 4 thanks to Rinne. That was a very winnable series that slipped away.

Meanwhile, in the Jets series, the Presidents' Trophy winning Preds outshot the Jets badly, but Rinne got yanked in 3 losses and blew a 3-0 lead in the 4th. Those performances with Nashville's 2 best chances for a Cup on the line wouldn't be hand-waved away in most NHL cities.

To me he better stay healthy and start winning cups or putting up consistent 100pt seasons. Until then, one-of for me.

He has a bit to go until Brett Hull, Brian Leetch, Pat Lafontaine, Chris Chelios etc status in my book.

                      Or even Pat Kane...

                        2nd period vs Wings

Goal: Marner, assisted by Bunting and Matthews

Goal: Marner, assisted by Bunting and Matthews

Goal: Marner, assisted by Bunting and Matthews

Natural hat trick in under 8 minutes.

Now if only Marner can do this in the playoffs.

Edit-And Leafs are about to blow a 7-2 lead.......Wings scored 5 goals in under 8 minutes! Leafs scored 1 more but still, this is one of their worst periods I've ever seen.

Score is now 10-7! Score wise at least this is old school hockey

Wings huge comeback in the 3rd was impressive, and at 8-7 there was a delayed penalty, and Bert got tripped (IMO), didn't get called, coulda shoulda woulda been a 5 on 3 for 2 mins, instead the Wings garbage PP immediately gave up a shorty and all the comeback momentum was over. Crazy game

Only the 2nd time in almost 30 years we've seen this many goals in a game.

This also has to be a record. Leafs scored 10 goals with 0 PP opportunities all game.

a 17 goal game in which neither team scored a PP goal, and yet a SH was scored lol, that's nuts

The top eight teams in the Eastern Conference already look set and now we're just playing 30 games to determine seedings. That's like 35 per cent of the schedule
