Re: The Official 2021-22 Season Talk Thread
Leafs #2 goalie tonight is the guy who would've played in the David Ayers game if it was his turn in the rotation as the emergency backup.
Also, I forgot Pierre McGuire is part of the Sens. They showed him in the GMs box, and I was wondering "what is he doing there?" And then I remembered he was hired by the Sens, and now I'm wondering "what is he doing there?"Last edited by Majingir; 10-16-2021, 06:39 PM.Comment

Leafs redeem themselves and beat the Sens...although it took an offside review by an inch that took away a Sens goal to really win this.
Next up, Monday vs NYR, an American team! Hopefully Matthews is ready for that.Comment

Late night HNIC featuring Battle of Alberta infront of fans again after having Battle of Ontario beforehand. Just feels right.
Only the 1st, but both teams going after each other. Something about seeing them fighting while "running wild" plays in the background feels fitting.Last edited by Majingir; 10-16-2021, 10:48 PM.Comment

Lotta powder kegs ready to go off - Toronto, Chicago, Montreal. Which one goes boom first?Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2021-22 Season Talk Thread
The Habs built up some goodwill after going to the cup last year and after an offseason where they lost a lot of talent combined with a return to a tougher division, means expectations are lower.
Toronto has been very stable since the Shanaplan was enacted. If they still look like crap after 20 games, then I could see a coaching change.Comment

Hard to argue against any of the above.
Also, is it just me or has scoring been ridiculous in the super-early part of this year? Goals just seem to be flying in at NHL'95 Sega Genesis levels.Comment

...and boom goes the dynamite. Stan Bowman steps down, Blackhawks fined 2 M.
I imagine they'll look externally for a replacement, likely someone with experience. Staying within house for a long term replacement would be really bad optics. Unless the team's fortunes on the ice improve drastically, Jeremy Colliton will probably be gone at the end of the year if not sooner. At the deadline I would expect perhaps shedding expiring's and not much else unless an offer is too good to pass up.Comment
