I'd be down for a tourney. I just recently bought this game and I'm totally addicted. I know someone else who would be into joining a tourney.

Is there going to be a cap on skill points?

Sign me up. I just bought this game from Blockbuster for $9.99. Seems like I got a bargain. Finally made the switch after being a long time Tiger player

Add me to the list. I've limited my Advanced player to 25 attribute points for challenge purposes, but I'd like to play in a tournament under any terms.

I'm not either really. I average about 69 with 25 attribute points in advanced level. I don't understand why this game allows you to create superhuman players that are capable of annihiliating the golf courses, even from the tournament tees. The Advanced level seems to strive for simulation qualities, but you're still capable of creating golfers who belong in an arcade game. I good player could probably average 69 in this game with 5-10 attribute points in Advanced.

Having said that... I'm still amazed at the graphics and overall gameplay that Links 2004 provides. I prefer its graphics to any golf game I've played, PC or console (and that includes Links 2003). I don't see how you could improve on it visually on the XBox, although I do think there are some gameplay tweaks and options that could make it a better game. Still, it gets regular play on my XBox and is certainly the most enduring game I have on that system.... slightly edging out TOCA 2.

I've been having a crazy case of the hooks recently. One round I'll think I have it all figured out; next round I can't get a drive on the fairway or my clubhead speed drops to under 100 MPH. I'm finding this game to be a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. Great, great game....

I find that it's very important to maintain an even tempo. What I really like about Links 2004 is that it rewards players who maintain a good swing tempo... it's not a matter of who can jiggle the thumbstick the fastest. If your clubhead speeds are dropping low, it's probably because your swing tempo is either too fast, or worse yet, uneven.

If you'll notice, there's a swing arc being "painted" by the clubhead as you take it back. If the color of that path becomes blue or yellow, it means you're taking the clubhead back outside or inside the optimum swing plane. I'll stop my backswing and start over when I see this happening. Of course you can still get outside the path on the downswing, and that's a little bit harder to detect, and stop. I tend to shank balls wildly out to the right on occasion. It's really freaky when it happens because it doesn't feel like I've done anything that wrong with the swing. I love the game though!

Any updates on the Tourney? If no one is starting this, I can make a private tourney and pass out the information here on the boards...
