I think the game sucks. I haven't played Tiger Wood's since the first game. It's not a sim golf game. Yes the graphics are nice. The stupid sounds when tiger powers up to hit a shot, WTF is up with that. There are like 3 people in the crowds. The announcing sucks. Can't they make a sim golf game. Can't they do a play by play shot annoucing. Just adding a caddie coach is completly a gimmic. We still don't see caddies in the game. So tell me why do people like his games?

I've never been a huge fan of them either... but i do love my hot shots golf 4 and its not really sim but I feel its harder than TW at times.

Plus I never likes using the right analog to swing....and the new shot system on HSG4 makes it feel more like real golf for me.

The pull of TW is the real courses.....I get sucked in too....any fan of golf loves to play the real courses......and that's the one thing HSG4 is missing....

You can't say the game sucks if the last time you played it was the first one released (which was ten years ago). You don't know anything about the game in its current form.

Is it the perfect golf sim, no. The last 2 years, especially last year, EA has made some pretty big improvements in that department. Give it a rent, play on tour difficulty, and you might be surprised how far it has come from the days of holing out everything from the fairway.

What games are sim LOL every game has something wrong with them and IMO the Tiger Woods series has done some great things. Not to mention we really dont have a choice as to what we are playing

MLB08 The Show is pretty sim like, and I still havent stop playing the game after it came out. The best baseball game to date. Ok my mistake, I have played a few of the Tiger games since its first inception but the game SUCKS big time. VEJAY SINGH is coming out with a game. Lets see how that game is, probably will suck to..lol

What games are sim LOL every game has something wrong with them and IMO the Tiger Woods series has done some great things. Not to mention we really dont have a choice as to what we are playing

1. Ok my mistake, I have played a few of the Tiger games since its first inception but the game SUCKS big time.

2. VIJAY SINGH is coming out with a game. Lets see how that game is, probably will suck to..lol

2. Still doesnt feel like a golf game with 10 people in the crowd
3. Commantary SUCKS only one liners
4. Still hear that stupid power noise when you power up your shots...
5. Not realistic by placing your meter and the ball goes there.
6. The new coach feature is just a gimmick
7. Picking new equiptment is dumb and worthless.

I can go on and on....

What other console golf game are you going to play that doesn't have cartoon-like characters?

My personal fav golf game was Links for the regular xbox. The online for that game is still the best ever, IMO. There wasn't any waiting on the other person to hit, everyone played at the same time and you just saw their ball line on your screen. It made the game quicker and was a blast to play with a foursome, because everyone was in the chat at the same time too. Come on MS get me some Links 360...

1. yep no caddie... such a game killer. Its why I hardly play real golf anymore... everytime I show up at the course there aren't any caddies to carry my clubs and give me advice. LOL. Where is the strategy if you have a caddie telling you what club to use all the time and reading the greens for you.

4. What do you mean by power up shots? If you play on easy or normal you can do the power boost, if thats what you mean. But who plays these games on easy unless just to mess around and eagle every hole.

5. You still have to do the analog swing plus match up how much energy you put into it. Which if you are not playing on easy the stick swing is not very forgiving.

6. Not sure what that is...

7. Huh, silly me I though buying new equipment and clubs added boosts to your skill sets, plus you can mix and match what clubs you want in your bag, which birng varying loft and distances.

You can tell you haven't played a Tiger game in a while. I am not saying they are the best golf games ever, but you seem to be a little mis-informed about the newer games.

1. Show me a Golf game that does. Note, I have not played HSG so I am unaware if they have one or not. I have played all the others....PC and Console.

2. 10 people in the crowd? What version of the game are YOU playing? In the PC and 360 versions, there are scores of people on the course. You DO realize of course that each and every spectator has to be rendered individually by the game engine. With this and the challenge of rendering dynamic 3D trees convincingly is the main reason why there are not more spectators...

3. Show me another Golf game that has more commentary than this....don't get me wrong, I would like to see it improved, but it certainly doesn't render the game to an "it sucks" status....

4. I don't power up my shots. I don;t hear anything but the contact of the clubhead and ball when I swing. Note, I only play the most challenging difficulty levels which have most of that arcade nonsense turned off by default.

5. How else would YOU do it then? Every Golf game to date has had some sort of reference point for where each shot might land.

6. You might be right about that one...guess we will see in August.

7. If picking new equipment was handled like it is/was in the PC version, then it WOULD make a difference in gameplay. What I personally hate is all the powerups and attributes that come with the clothing. To me, THAT is dumb.

I could "go on and on" as well and while I recognize there are aspects of Tiger that have nothing to do with the PGA TOUR, I certainly could not say with a straight face that the game or series "sucks". To each his own....

I keep trying Tiger, but just can't seem to get into it. I still have Links 2003 on my computer and feel that is still the best golf game ever made. Same with the Nascar series and Papyrus Nascar 2003. Still better than anything made today. Some say that NFL 2K5 on the football side is better. Anybody see a common thread here?

Buy an exclusive license to eliminate all competition and then put minimum effort into your yearly sequel while still charging full price.

How some anit-trust lawyer has not gotten a hold of this, I don't know. EA probably bought all of them out too.

I hate the series. I give it a try every year hoping the devs catch lightning in a bottle but it always disappoints.

Regarding the caddie - I remember Hot Shots having one and they annoy the heck out of me.

Also - Divotmaker once again cites how good Tiger's trees are. Who cares? I'd be happy with Mario Golf style 3D stuff if the game played perfectly and it's just never quite polished enough. Shooting for picture perfect realism is a losing battle IMO.

I don't mine the TW series when going head to head with my buddies ... with every game that has come out since TW 2004 we've managed to create some good video golfing competition.

Creating players with little attributes and using some of our own rules, like no zoom and instead of wind guage we guess by the direction the wind blows the grass when the player lets it go while standing on the tee ....... 2004

Creating players with little attributes and this time using the wind guage and again not using the zoom feature we created 4 different versions of each course using course arcitect ... you would'nt believe how many fairways can be missed in 2005.

Basically the same with 2006 but this time the course arcitect does it for you.

2007 we don't play ... biggest reason can't miss a fairway.

2008 we take pro players and go head to head ... for the first time we can actually miss fairways!!! (THANKYOU) alot of people say the swing mechanics are now to touchy, does'nt bother me none.

But playing tournaments in the TW series by myself blows BIGTIME ... not one yr have I been able to get through it without being bored crazy by the end of the first round.

I know some people like to play alone, the game goes much faster ... just wish they would give us an option, or, add a simple tournament mode where I can pick any course I want to play, choice of one to four rounds and be able to add cpu or other human players "one to four players" to play with while also being able to look at the leaderboard to see how I/we stand.

Then I would like this game alot more :wink: other then that I've only liked head to head gaming with this series.
