Maybe for you but, every year the mode I end up playing the most is offline career mode. For me, it is not a small part of the package; it is the most important part of the package.

I'm still wondering if playoffs have been added this year. Another huge disappontment from last year.

You are not penalized for playing poorly in this year's version. And you can assign attributes using XP (Experience Points) to any of the 11 attributes you wish. So in essence, you can build your CAG just exactly how YOU want him to play. So far, you can also take attribute points away from a skill and reassign to another attribute from what I have seen so far. I need to spend more time with the attributes, but I like how they are done this year.

From the sounds of it, that could lead to people maxing out on power or another attribute and nothing else. Could be a problem.

Only if they don't balance out the accuracy. If you max out power, it should be harder to make a perfect swing. And because the landing area is random, shots should be all over that landing circle.

I don't know if it works that way but that's how I would like to see it.

I don't know who this reviewer is and I've never heard of this site, I just stumbled upon it while looking in google for some Tiger reviews/impressions, but he pretty much roasts the game. He comes off as kind of a douche though, and I'll wait for some opinions from sources I know to be more reputable:

The series has had problems with this for years. Just look at that 350 yard bomb Phil hit on the short par 4 at Memorial over the weekend. He nuked it but he also didn't have a clue where it was going. And then he tried to nuke another one on the following par 5 and blocked it about 50-100 yards left of the fairway. The longer tour pros can get that crazy distance but they don't have a ton of control when they take a huge rip at the ball. The Tiger series assumes a relatively constant power stroke on all swings (honestly, boost is more SIM than not but the risk should be very extreme when using it) and doesn't seem to punish enough on really long balls.

The big question I have is is this really worth $60 over TW 10? From what I've seen it is not, the features added don't seem to be enough bang for the buck.

                    Re: Any reviews?

This is the most thorough review I've seen of the game yet. As somebody who is undecided on this game I am really looking forward to impressions from you all as well as thoughtful and insightful reviews like this (no I don't work for the site and I'm not the reviewer ). Most of the early "reviews" seem more like first impressions. This guy seems to have taken some time with the game:

Mr. Bill Abner posted a good review (B grade for the game): http://www.gameshark.com/reviews/355...-11-Review.htm

I don't know that I'll be purchaing a TW game anytime soon (for $60 anyway) as it will never be sim enough for me. Looks like it could be fun though; I would pick it up for $30.

well you could get it for $39.99 with free shipping at dell.com right now

I think with true aim and variable winds, Tour Pro is as sim as it gets at the moment, which is enough for me to pay $40 for a brand new game. Additionally I think that online team play will be great and will keep me playing the game for a long while.

Thanks for the heads up! True aim and variable winds are steps in the right direction (for me) for sure, but Bill points out stuff that's aggravated me to no end in years past. $40 is tempting...

How can somebody make up their mind without getting information? What do you expect people to go on, EA's marketing? Of course it is good to check out reviews..unless you don't mind the gamble of throwing away 60 bucks on something that isn't playable for you. If there's something that's been a game killer for you about the game in the past and enough people are saying it's still there then you just saved yourself some money.

                                Re: Any reviews?

Bill points out exactly the main problem I have had with this series. I HATE how you have to buy shirts or play stupid side games to build up your golfer. Why have they not updated the career mode???? It could be so simple . . . you start on the Nationwide (or lesser tour) and then you have to progress through the Nationwide to Q school (or vice versa). As he says in his review your golfer should start as a beginner on this level, but not rated a "10".

Until they do this, I will be hard pressed to buy this game. Stop adding extra modes and fix your basic career system.

My $.02, for what it is worth.
