Yeah, I agree about the PS3 version, but I have some reservations about the Move support in this year's version, at least. At first I doubted that it would even be done, since that seems like a rather bold gesture to include in a post-release patch. But now I hear that they finally demonstrated it in action to a small degree at E3, so at least we know it's actually in the works.
My only question is the extent to which it's been properly implemented. It'd be a real shame to have motion controls in HD only to find that it feels tacked on and gimmicky compared to the Wii version, which has been fine-tuning and improving on this control scheme for years. I'd be quite comforted if there were any information as to the extent of the Wii development team's involvement in working on the PS3 Move support. As it stands, it seems improbable that it will simulate the swing nearly as well as the Wii version does, even if the technology behind the move is considerably more impressive than MotionPlus. It's clear that the game was not built from the ground up with the Move in mind (i.e., there is no first person view like the Wii game has, and the difficulty structure seems the same.)
I mean, it's certainly possible that they really put a lot of effort into this and it will end up being almost indistinguishable from the Wii version in terms of gameplay, and nobody would be more thrilled about that than me. But until I have a little more reason to have faith, I think I'm going to hold onto my Wii copy at least until there are hands-on impressions from reputable sources who have experience with the Wii version for comparison's sake. If nothing else, the first-person perspective, improved disc golf and the new mini-golf mode are enough to distinguish the Wii version even if Move support ends up being surprisingly robust.
I've been kicking around the idea this afternoon of trading in the Wii version and just playing the PS3 version with sticks until the Move comes out, but I don't think I'll jump the gun just yet until I have more info, and it's highly doubtful that they'd "patch" mini-golf and disc golf into the PS3 version along with the Move support anyway. I just don't think I could stomach being without a golf game or playing with sticks at this point.
