Now do you see what I mean by gamekiller. If you think this is frustrating try playing great for 3 rounds and getting hyped about the 4th round about winning or at least a high showing to up your ranking and then having your round blow up because of these stupid pins and ending up tied for 40th. Meanwhile all the AI golfers are still programmed to shoot 68 giving you no chance of even contending.

While St Andrews and Costa Novarino are the worst offenders but many other coureses in the game have 1 or 2 holes just like these to cost you 3 or 4 strokes.

It's really not necessary though, reading through both pages of the thread it's pretty clear what the discussion has evolved to.

That's fine and I get your point.

I'm sorry, I just assumed that if you weren't following the thread previously you would have read some previous comments before responding. I apologize for making that assumption.

I meant nothing by it and wasn't trying to make any point, I just didn't understand what you were trying to get at.

Seymour mentioned this earlier, an i'm not sure if it is a USGA rule or just a stron urging, but when I did hole locations for tournaments when I used to work on a grounds crew, the head superintendent told me to find challenging hole locations for the final round for 13 holes, 5 holes have relatively easy locations, and no hole location an be on a severe slope, or within 2 feet of the edge of the green.

Great stuff...I don't think I've seen the 2 foot from edge of green calamity, but the pin on a slope thing is the issue, especially so in fourth rounds.

It'd be great if you could post this at the EA forums/Tiger 12 area so the devs might see it.

To be honest I'm sure even the devs know what the rules are but they purposely did this to increase the difficulty in the cheapest and easiest way possible. It was a design decision, not one done out of ignorance which really is annoying.

There is no rule for hole location, but the USGA does offer some guidelines. http://www.usga.org/RulesFAQ/rules_a...dx=143&Rule=16

                        Rule #3:

An area two to three feet in radius around the hole should be as nearly level as possible and of uniform grade. In no case should holes be located in tricky places, or on sharp slopes where a ball can gather speed. A player above the hole should be able to stop the ball at the hole.

That should be posted in really big writing (maybe even crayon) on the wall at the EA offices.
