Yes, I have both as well. The pc game is the real deal...that's the kind of golf game I want to see on the consoles.

Read my reply a couple up. I would love to see the same thing, but I really don't think it's possible. Until you can hook a mouse up to a console or they come up with a different type of controller, I think we'll have to stick with PC golf games for the realism factor. Maybe I'll be wrong and Links will surprise.

Yes, but it isn't even that you can almost always hit the ball straight. I have gotten so that I can hit it straight 90% of the time on the PC version. But, all you have to aim where you hit is an arrow at your golfer's feet. The zoom to shot target just gives you an area of the hole that you can hit it to, not a specific point. Hitting for Power is a mode. You can select the "Power" type swing, but it is less forgiving on errors. It isn't a button-tapping contest, and I think that is the biggest thing that the console versions need to get rid of. Plus, you just have many more shot options with the PC version rather than the console version.

            Re: TechTV preview links 2004

then theres another perspective......those of us (me) that have invested what money they have in a nice big TV and an xbox (with s-video since im not about to get a 2nd job to get HDTV and all that) my PC is functional in that i can use it to go online to sites like this and check out games and opinions, download rosters and upgrades, and use email...it has the default cheapo 13" monitor (feel free to keel over) and there is NO WAY im going to bother upgrading it and trying to find space in my house to set up yet another gaming system (not to mention all the money that would cost me in divorce proceedings )

anyway, everyone is after the same thing here (mostly) and that is a realistic playing sports (in this case Golf) title

i agree this game, the way it is MADE to be by EA (so they can appeal to the masses and eat caviar and drink tri-filtered vodka) is way too easy.....i say thank god we have the option to customize it, dummy it down if you will, by turning off aids and not maximizing attributes IF we CHOOSE to....i do, and i like then how the game makes me fight to shoot what would be a solid round (say 66-68) and be competitive for a tournament win

noone is saying you HAVE to do any of this, but for those that would like to be able to get TW2004 to play "sim", the info has been provided on many threads in this forum and it DOES WORK

i, for one, had i not tried this approach, would have maxed my first golfer, beaten everything, won my first couple tournaments in season mode by 40+ shots and buried the game behind the others in my collection that get no play time....BUT, i did try some of these suggestions, and im THRILLED that i did, because the game, to me, is still as playable today as when i bought it

you CAN eat your cake and have it too, is all im trying to say.....ideally i didnt piss anyone off while saying it....cheers
