Drop into an offline tournament to play any course at any time.

It sure would be fun to have played Bay Hill this weekend like the pro's but no, EA spends endless amounts of time cramming more ways to pay them money on the UI screens in lieu of offering more ways to enjoy the game.

I will have to go back to the Genesis version to play any tournament at will.. BEYOND LAME.......

They have completely lost sight of what would make the game fun for the user to squeeze every dime out of us sheeple who buy it every year... I know, I should not be shocked...

I believe the online play of this years game will have plenty of replay value. Once I achieve all courses I will be able to play whatever course the pros are playing on any given weekend. This is one great year for tiger woods golf.

Brian, I agree with your point. There comes a time when you see how blatant their attempts are at trying to make a few extra bucks that you really get a bad taste in your mouth.

I haven't played a TW game in some time, but because of the online aspects this year, I think my friends and I will enjoy it. But, that doesn't mean you don't question their design balance.

I really do not get what you mean.... This year, you can earn all of the downloaded courses and pay no money whatsoever.. There will be over 25 courses in the game total... The offline career mode, you can now switch in and out courses on everything except the Masters and Players... You can skip any Tournament you want in career... Just simply do not understand the feature you are looking for....

Or Pro - I want to create a tournament - set the weather conditions, rounds, players and prize money.. That way I can mirror the pros schedule to see how I do playing under the same conditions on the couse they are playing every week.. I guess that is too much to ask in 2012 and I am stuck paying or having to play to unlock courses I already purchased.. How does this make sense to anyone?

How is that fun? They take away all options to play how you want so I can play as tiger when he was a kid? ... huh?

It's a feature I've been asking for since TW 2004(the last one I could do it on). Sometimes my schedule doesnt't meet up with the pros. It would be nice just to be able to set up a simple 4 round tourney and play. If I got this game tomorrow I won't have all the stuff unlocked and set up in my carre by the time The Masters is played, however it would be nice to be able to play 4 rounds along with the tourney.

You guys do know they did "Play the Pros" tournaments in the Online Live Tournaments the last 2 years. If the week was a course in the game, it was set up that way and it used the real scores from the tournament. If the course was not in the game, they simply used another course, but still updated the scores live. You had one week to play it and they had a Tour Pro and Tournament mode one. The winnings were applied to your online tournament money so as long as you beat the real scores, you got a win in the online Tournaments.

In the career mode offline, if the course and tournament are in the game, you can play it.... I guess I fail to see the appeal of what you want..... It would be something I personally would never use...

I'll tell you why it is not an option....the feature you want is one of the least requested features from all of the fedback that EA receives for new features. There are also other ways to play one-off tournaments....you can play them online in the Weekly tournaments and Play the Pros. The CM is the deepes CM that Tiger has ever had, but making up an offline tournament outside of CM is just not a priority for EA unless they receive a great deal of feedback requesting it. They have proven that they DO listen to their Tiger Community and many features in the game today have come from that same community. Posting your displeasure here isn't going to get the kind of exposure that you want it to receive. If you aren't making your wishes known in the EA Tiger forums, they aren't likely to get your feedback here like they do there.

And since the DLC is completely OPTIONAL, I can't say I agree with your "They have completely lost sight of what would make the game fun for the user to squeeze every dime out of us sheeple who buy it every year... " comments.

So the overwhelming feedback from the fans is that we want most of the courses locked down and more ways to pay for what we already bought? Nice...

And it's not DLC if it's in the disk, right?

Even with regular edition not pre order, you get 16 courses. Of the locked course, 3 are fantasy and one is Augusta par 3. JUST by playing rounds, and even just by signing in to certain features, you earn coins which can be used for greens fees at locked courses, which in turn can eventually unlock unlimited play without any further cost except having fun with your time.

Bay Hill isnt in the game at all this year, even as dlc.

As someone else pointed out, the weekly play the pros lets you go up against the REAL leaderboard, and if the course is in the game, its on that course with a close approximation of the real weather.

This thread is basically a troll to get the kneejerk "cmon man its EA" response, which is garbage. EA is doing some of the most innovative things with online play despite being the pioneers of the online pass, including basically allowing free online play in ssx with the pass just unlocking your winnings, and the dlc (disc locked content is the new acronym meaning btw) model here.
