I'm only at 18 and was able to post a 5 under in the third round. I like playing in this kind of tourney, maybe mixing in one round with breezy winds and tough pin placements wouldn't hurt. I'm having a blast regardless.

I'm having a blast too and can pinpoint what's stopped me from getting a -5, -7, etc. But you guys need to realize that ONLY a 29 and ONLY a 32 doesn't make sense. That's the point, some people are online playing a lot so they may be at 18, 15, etc. You say only an 8 in power, well I'm only a 6 and my guy's around a 26. I can't imagine what some who've played less offline than me are.

I think the perfect idea is mixing in a round with heavy wind and a round with tough pin placement, or even all of them having tough pin placement but don't kid yourself if you think a player that hasn't put time in offline to build their character up some can compete with 30 mph winds blasting in their face.

forgive me, but im just not getting your point...are you saying it is or isnt possible to compete with a "lesser" skilled golfer? i think its definitely possible, being as most of the scoring to be done in this game is based off of the accuracy of the approach shot....so say my drive goes 300 and yours goes 280...leaving my approach at 150 yards and yours 170....do i have an advantage? maybe ever so subtly, but then lets say my club yardages are 165 & 153 (which they are)..now, if the shot is uphill significantly, or into a breeze of any kind, the 153 yard club will not get there, so i choose to smack the 165 club and hope for the best....but i overcompensate and fly the green down a hill

anyway, enough of that, my point was supposed to be that only on a few holes, IMO, where the green becomes driveable for a really big hitter, is there a significant advantage...but maybe its just me

No I definitely wasn't saying it's impossible. My guy's getting a bit above average but started round one as a very average golfer and though I think I was +4 that round I could've easily been par, -1, -2. It's my fault that I wasn't. However the average golfer playing to maximum capacity on a course set up like this can't possibly hope for much more than that... -2, -3, -4. While a much more advanced golfer could easily hit those numbers and much lower. Distance plus wind plus pin placement isn't the way to level the playing field. The way this particular one was set up it does favor the more advanced players.

The bottom line is we're not playing for money or anything so I'll have fun no matter how the thing's set up, but suggesting to lower the wind and maybe increase the challenge in other ways like rain or pin placement that do require more skill despite the level than being able to have a second shot 120 out after driving in 30 mph wind.

I'm gonna have to start working on playing this game more.
