    I didn't make the cut.

I'm gonna have to start working on playing this game more.

I almost ONLY play it in tourneys.
I get bored offline and even though he doesn't have the skills it's still fun.

I just get a rush playing a round that I know will be posted.....good or bad.

These tourneys are really making this game grow on me.
This is the first cut I've ever made though.

Reflecting back on round 2 of this tourney.............

I had a freakin 9 on a par 3 !!!! Not sure which hole. All I know is that up until that point I was pretty consistent on my drives (maybe not on the fairway each time but in a playable spot). On this particular hole, I hit this wicked slice that launched my ball into the shorewood forest !!!!

This was not a hazard so I had to hit from that lie. Like a nimrod, I left my shot type set to "straight" on my first four shot attempts out of the wooded area only to see my ball fall harmlessly back in front of me After the fourth shot attempt from the woods, something weird happened.....predictably, the shot fell like a wounded duck at my feet, I was assessed a 1 stroke "HAZARD" penalty although the position of my ball was no different than the previous two shots from that same area. And what really gets my undies in a bunch is that after the penalty stroke was added, I once again had to shoot from that freakin forest again, the ball location did not change

Anyways, after taking about a minute to regroup, wiping the tears from my eyes and talking myself out of the murderous thoughts I was having....I CAME TO MY SENSES !!! There's a little thing called a PUNCH SHOT Once I changed to that shot type I fired my next shot to within 5" of the cup !!!

I only have myself to blame for that whole fiasco but I still don't understand the 1 stroke penalty when I had already hit 3 shots from that same spot....and then I had to hit from there again after the penalty.....Any ideas or has someone else seen this???

I'm not bashing the game by any means....just puzzled by this one issue

gotcha, i agree with you also...rewarding accuracy over length would certainly go a long way towards leveling the playing field

I'm going to venture a guess here that one of the shots put you under a bush or in some sort of unplayable lie position.
Possibly you were too close up to actually see it on the screen. You probably had a shot at it (with a punch) but your subsequent shots put you in a worse lie.

Perhaps there is no signal for unplayable and the game prompt just defaults to Hazard. Since calling unplayavle lies are always at the sole discretion of the player of the ball, I do not think the game would normally call one for you.

Either that or you were right next to the hazard and chipped yourself into it.

Good call on the punch shot.

also you can pause the game at any time and take a one stroke DROP (unplayable lie) and it would save you grief.

Yeah klocker, looking back on it a drop with a one stroke penalty would made more sense. I totally blocked that as well as the punch shot out of my head until it was too late

I could have saved myself about 4 or 5 strokes on that hole alone which would have put me closer to the cutoff point after the round was over. After that 6 over par, I pretty much adopted a don't care policy and was'nt being as critical or watchful over every shot.

You are probably on to something with your proposed idea on how the AI handled that hazard situation...makes sense !!!
