Did that 80 skill point cheat gain any momentum?

I haven't heard about it since it was posted on the XBOX forums yesterday. looks like the Links team did a great job nipping that in the bud and are working on a patch.

Yep

sounds like they have it toned down.

apparently it was some sort of long term play glitch rather than an instant 80 point thing.

Daryl Welsh posted today that he was much less concerned about it than he was yesterday now that they have had time to digest it, but they are working on it.

To get any real benefit from the glitch you really have to play through 80% of the game to use it effectively anyway.

He said he was MUCH more concerned about the unscrupulous people that would drop a high skill player on Action Replay for everyone.

that is what he would really like to prevent from infesting online tourneys, especially since they are supporting sponsored PRIZE winning tourneys.

It's only a matter of time before we see that. Personally, I'm not too concerned with it. The game isn't automatic with a maxed out 80pt player, it still requires alot of skill to shoot well. I'm at 60pts right now (just started Legend) and have now doubt I could kill a noob with an 80pt saved career file.

True, I just want to be on the lookout for it so I can prevent it possibly being used in the OS tourneys. thanks for keeping me posted. I haven't seen it mentioned on the AR forums or on IGN, so maybe it was resovled quickly!!

No real way to do that. I mean, I have 60pts on my guy, and I'm not that far off from maxing him out on my own. It's only a matter of time before really good players have maxed out players on their own, or someone gets a copy from someone (either through AR or knowing someone).

I guess the best solution would be a way to limit the amount of skill points you can have for a XSN tournament, which has already been suggested, but Daryl basically said it can't be done.
