Butchered the par 5's on the front. Made a nervous bogey on 17. But shot my best round ever. Super excited.

I realize Shesan is pretty easy, but I'll take it.

Shot my best round to date on this game in the Daily last night. Shot a +3 and was happy as hell. Let out a Stone Cold "Hell Yeah!" at 1:30am that I'm sure roused my neighbors from their happy slumber.

Until this year, I hadn't played a TW game since 2001, so it's taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things so to speak. When I first started, these "Sim" settings were just flat out killing me, but I loved them at the same time. I've got my CAG to level 49 and can actually hit some decent shots now. With the CC settings, it is so rewarding when you hit a good approach shot or make a good read on a putt and drain it. (My weakness... reading the greens).

Anyway, looking forward to our FedEx Cup season.

I have given up being a power golfer. I have realized that I would rather reach a par 5 SAFELY in 3 rather than reach it in 2 maybe 1 time out of 10 with the other 9 times hanging out in the 2nd cut and bushes with a machete in hand as if I'm on an episode of Man VS Wild. Control, control control. I need control. I changed my created golfer from power to control. I got rid of all my +3 power shafts for the regular shafts.

I'm finding that I have cut my score in more than half, going from an average of +15 on a round to about +6 or +7

The strange thing is that when I'm playing offline, I have the grid turned off at all times and I put better there than I do in a CC tourney with the grid turned on. Sometimes the grid doesnt look like it matches up with the "above/below" read you get on wether the ball is going to curve right or left.

I'm trying to find a way to get sick so I can go home for the rest of the day and practice now.

I find if you're going to be a power golfer, your accuracy attributes should be pretty high. I've played a Control, Fade, High golfer. Works great for me.

I might have to do that too. My putting game is pretty good (and I prefer the grid to be OFF completely).. but driving kills me. I'm a draw hitter so I'm moving the stick from the lower left corner to the upper right corner but it seems like when I make a "lightning bolt" and the squiggly starts and or finishes on the right side of my hit meter, my ball goes flying mad crazy to the right, usually out into the Amazon jungle. If I could consistently drive the ball into the fairway, I would shave another 8-9 strokes off each of my rounds.

Also, I think EA likes to pick on me lol. I swear every time I hit the ball with my iron play to get it up on the green and my ball magically ALWAYS finds the sand trap if there is one there. Not the rough, not out of bounds far from the green but the dam traps, every single time. The funny thing though is I'm pretty good at holing out or getting out of those and landing within 1-3 feet from the hole. I still think it's a consipracy though, EA is trying to keep me in the sand, no matter where the trap is.

Pissed I can't do the weekly now. I put up a good first round and start of a second and got into a lateral glitch where it just kept giving me laterals and had to quit and now it's locked.

I was feeling it in every aspect of the round. Hardly missed the fairway. My GIR was good. Putts were rolling. Ended up with 3 bogeys but managed to right those wrongs. Maybe my best round ever in this game so far. I'll just say that was I was super pumped submitting that score card.

Bogey free round. I'll take that every time. I can tell I am getting better with judging the breaks in putting. Hopefully I can continue to have good rounds like this every day.

Looks like you guys were tearing it up at Sheshan. I shot a +2 which makes it my best score on these settings so far. On the front nine I was doing pretty well and was sitting at -3 at one point. I started getting excited that I might actually finish under par, but my putting fell apart on the back. I was actually hitting the ball pretty decent off the tee instead of spraying it everywhere like usual. I hope that continues.

Well I'm finished with the weekly.
After an EA "drop" that gave me zero chance and eventual high score I rage played the 30 holes or so.

And of course when that happens everything ticks me off.

The Giggas comes online during a backswing, EA decides to have status boxes come up over the ball/club, the ranger informing me the other golfers are complaining about my creative language etc... everything was under my skin.

I settled down after a while but still posted a +18 I believe for the week.

I do love this game though.....

For an interesting change of pace, you might consider playing the "County Club Tour" weekly event. It starts out with real easy conditions, gets harder each round. It was pretty fun shooting -18 in round one, and grinding for a +1 in round four.

You play the event where you are slotted for the week in your CC standings. I played the amateur event the last two weeks and had fun.

It's also a club v club event.

Nice playing. I could have gotten there if I could have skipped playing #17. That hole killed me.
