Nice to see Tiger and his young son playing the exhibition in Florida this past weekend. Admittedly a ways off from tournament golf but I would not put it past him to get to at least a competitive level again. As far as catching Jack's 18 well not gonna happen.

Jeez that leg. You can't say he didn't play up to his potential that wouldn't be fair. Guy had a very long stretch in what should have been prime years where he didn't win nearly as many majors as he could have due to injury and personal problems. So I guess he is going to go down as the Mickey Mantle of golf. Great but not as good as he could have been.

That's why Jack's record (or any similar such record) is so impressive, though. As we all know, a million things in life can derail anyone at any time, especially people who operate at the very edge of human accomplishments like Tiger and Jack, so it's all the more amazing when someone is able to sustain a level that high for that long without anything derailing you along the way.

I think our expectations for Tiger are so ridiculous at this point, and we've been proven wrong so many times by doubting him (myself among them), that it's hard to believe that reality has finally set in that Tiger's competitive playing days may well be over. There are still places that he can show up with limited or no competition practice and contend - e.g. Augusta - but no one can simply show up 4 weeks a year at the majors and expect to be in contention, least of all a guy whose body is as much of a wreck as Tiger's is at this point.

I think it's probably the end for him, but I've been wrong by saying that before.

No one beats Father Time. So far as Augusta goes the hills are a killer. He can't practice enough or play enough competitive rounds to win a major at this point.
