Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
When you can't putt eventually everything breaks down because you are trying to put everything to 3 feet and its not sustainable. You can cover up a lot of warts with good putting, conversely with bad putting nothing else matters because you can't score.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Early Sunday they showed him on the practice putting green. The guy missed two consecutive 3 foot putts.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
Yeah, DJ is also a bit too hot/cold, kinda like Phil. When he's on he'll just blitz a course, but being "on" for 4 consecutive rounds is tough. Then you have guys like Spieth and Zach Johnson that generally don't go torch a course, but pretty much keep their good and bad rounds within a narrow range. Clearly, that's a much more sustainable strategy (not that you can necessarily choose to be one or the other).
Also, not that anyone needed another reason to belittle Rick Reilly, but when Zach Johnson won the Masters back in 2007 by gunning down Tiger at Augusta, Riley proclaimed “I think Zach Johnson — in 10 years — has a real chance to be your server at Olive Garden.”Comment

Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
Interesting thought: if they don't resume play on Saturday during that hurricane-force gale that was going on (only to stop play again for the day 30 minutes later), which Spieth - at that time - stated may have cost him a shot, does he win the Open?
We'll never know....Comment

Concurrently, if Spieth doesn't have to stop his swing on shot #2 on the 72nd hole because of fan interference, would he have parked that shot instead of coming up short?Comment

Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
The golf club team stopped work and watched the play-off in our lounge, we were all competing for the $65 in the sweep. Speith let me down :-( . https://twitter.com/thegolfclubgame/...00908076294145

This way we could leave that thread for what it was originally intended for as well (not that it bothered anyone).Comment

Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
As ITT said, we've discussed most major tournaments and other live events in the OS Golfers thread but if it's okay with you I'd like to just remove the "British Open" from your thread title and use this to discuss real golf tournaments here going forward now that we have about 6 of us that want to talk golf on a semi normal basis.
This way we could leave that thread for what it was originally intended for as well (not that it bothered anyone).Comment

Re: Actual Golf: The British Open
What exactly is he supposed to do? He made a killer putt on the 72nd hole which turned out to be the bar and set up the playoff that he dominated.Comment
