Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
We haven't BUT this is the first time all year he's played back to back weekends and I've said it and I'm pretty sure you said it as well but that could be the difference.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
Definitely could be. I mean, it's still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that a committed Tiger can't contend. Despite all the evidence that that's true, I - like everyone else - have a really hard time counting him out for good. Would be interested to see him fired up going into a final round again with a chance to win. I'm sure that old killer instinct is still in there somewhere.Comment

Brandt Snedeker shot a 61 today to climb from 103rd to currently 3rd on the leaderboard.
Woods is -1 through 6 after a bogey on the first hole.Comment

Awesome to see Tiger put together back to back solid rounds. Tied for the lead at -11 right now.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
He hit almost every green too. Just couldn't get the putter quite hot enough to really put a score up. He actually had 16 or 17 putts on the front, including a 3-putt bogey and was still -1.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 08-21-2015, 05:51 PM.Comment

Looks like Woods can't get anything going. Nice to see him among the leaderboard on a Sunday again though.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
Tiger was pretty solid throughout the tournament, was hitting his driver well (although he didn't have to hit it often), putted well for the most part, but just that 7 on #11 submarined his chances. Nevertheless, he should be encouraged.
Having said that, the course was relatively easy and the field was not the strongest, so it may in some ways be a bit misleading. Either way, looks like we won't see him again until the new year, as he said he was going to shut it down for the year.
I still don't get the 'playoffs', but I'm glad there are some meaningful tournaments after the PGA (whereas until relatively recently, the PGA was effectively the end of the season). I like the Barclays tournament, although my favorite course in that rotation is the Liberty National one in Jersey City.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
It was nice that he didn't just mail it in after going triple-bogey/bogey. He came back from that with 4 birdies in 6 holes to finish out his round.
BTW, Davis Love III? Really? That was his first win since November 2008.
