I wonder how much it would have cost to mo cap the pro swings. Seems to me 2k is going to cater to a crowd who doesn't give a rip about stuff like that. Hoping for the best but expecting nothing much here.



The game is decent enough but it isn't improving much at all. I'll wait for a deep sale.

Motion capture is shockingly expensive. How does $4,000 a day plus $20 a second for data solving + re-targeting sound? I can see where you'd be up over a million dollars with 12 pro golfers just for the motion capture alone, not to mention their time and travel expenses
to get to a studios where they could be mo-capped. I'm pretty sure that's why we're not seeing it at this stage. If this title is quasi-successful, I think we'll see mo-caps and more pros in the next edition, probably using the Eco-Motion game engine!

The two golfers announced today were Jim Furyk (another guy who needs to have a unique mo-capped swing, but probably won't) and Billy Horschel.

Furyk definitely needs his swing mo-capped, but I'm sure it ain't gonna happen this time around.... Billy Horschel (face palm emoji)!?

If I were Bryson DeChambeau, I'd be so pissed off that I spent all that time working out and putting on all that muscle, only to have my character model have the arms of a pro cyclist.

If it were me, I wouldn't want to play with DeChambeau. The guy takes 5 minutes sitting there before hitting every shot, and go around the greens 3 times before hitting any putt, even if it's 5 foot. I hate slow play.

I'd love to see a pairing with Rory Sabbatini and Bryson DeChambeau. We might get another Sabbatini/Ben Crane incident, where Rory impatiently went on to the next tee and played is tee shot, while Crane was still meticulously sizing up his putt... it was hilarious

Why not make the PGA courses available just to view and walk on but not play on.

Really dumb decisions here.

Like not being able to be NBA players in NBA 2k21.

Perhaps that’s the next step. All locked behind VC.

Seriously though make the Pros playable.

Ive gotten over the fact we won’t be able to play as them. The golf club was never that type of game, so I get it. I’m more annoyed they didn’t get any mo cap in for their swings Especially with a unique swing like Fruyk.

Embarrassing that the PGA put their name on this without having playable characters. Even PGA Tour 3 on genesis had playable pros.

Boy... that is a serious list of "alternates" they came up with for licensed pros.

And no real swings and you can't play as any of them.

Seriously, why bother?

Just add more licensed courses and license the names for the scoreboards....and/or let people import/edit names of "who is on the Pro Tour".

An alternative could be booking an impersonator for a few days. Hopefully this sees some success and it’s in future plans.
