Give me a brief synopsis of why this game is better.
There's more granularity in the backswing now and you can actually hit a partial shot with a reasonably realistic degree of control.

A slow tempo doesn't result in a "power fade" anymore... it falls proportionally short and to the right of the target.

The swing requires you to stay engaged with the thumbstick from start to finish. The cheesy "flick" swing is no more.

Putting requires more feel and a more deliberate and fluid stroke. I find it to be more sensually satisfying.

Ball physics are significantly improved. You can actually get a short iron to bite, and back up now.

The new grass textures, color palettes, and lighting are a step improvement over 2019. It looks more organic and transition lines between different cuts are more blended and therefore less start.

There's more but I've probably already bored you enough...

I have tempo problems but it is my fault. It can be fairly sensitive.

Went from Pro to Master. Must be 4-5 shots a side. Every shot requires good tempo you get away with very little. Can't imagine how hard Legend must be.

The two way miss is the most dangerous for any golfer. You have more room for error when you know which way your shot will curve.

It gives you extra room to land your approach shots so those pins tucked in behind bunkers are more accessible.

Actually what u need to do is turn Off the settings that automatically take lie into consideration for the target line.

Same is true if you leave it on for lie angle or elevation or wind. If you let the target adjust for those they will not show in your hud (even if turned on). The target will auto adjust the landing area for it

If you turn off that line adjustment then it will show in the HUD but you need to take it into account when setting up your shot

It's already available for the PS4 and is "coming soon" to the other platforms. I think it's patch version 1.03. I have the game on the XBox One X and I experience what feels to me like inconsistency in the swing results. I'm getting better with it overall, but still have the "where did that come from" reaction to about every sixth or seventh shot.

I picked up the PC version last night after reading a glowing review of it from a friend who has a virtual quantum gaming computer system. He had just bought the XBox One X version yesterday and said he could understand why console owners were squawking about the the swing tempo inconsistency. He's getting a solid 60 FPS on his state of the art gaming computer at 4K and all ultra settings.

My experience was not quite the same as his, on my... what I thought was a halfway decent gaming PC (Intel Core i5-4440 3.1 GHz, Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB, 16 GB PC-1600 DDR3 RAM, Windows 10 64 bit). I had to back down to 1080p, 84% course object detail, and graphics settings all to "High", to maintain a solid 60 FPS. It looks a lot like the stock XBox One version with those settings, albeit at 60 FPS.

Playing the game at 60 FPS definitely yield a more responsive and fluid swing, but my senses are now attuned to a week's worth of play at 30 FPS on my XBox One X. I fooled around with it for about an hour and a half last night and never got much better with tempo regulation, but with the additional feedback made possible by 60 FPS, I could better reconcile what I felt and saw, with what the feedback meter was showing.

I shot a 92 at TPC Boston in Pro difficulty at 60 FPS. No surprise, I'm still trying to get a handle on more fluid feedback and forgetting what I'd learned at 30 FPS. I then played a Society tournament round on the XBox One X, where I'd gone 74 and 75 in rounds 1 and 2, and posted an 85 . My tempo had been altered enough by the 1 1/2 hours of 60 FPS play to where I couldn't feel the swing properly on the One X again.

I've learned that I can't go back and forth between these two worlds. I'll play mostly on the X since that's where most of my friends are, but I'll pick up with my lifetime endeavor to complete my local golf course using LiDAR on the PC.

I shot a 3 under on Master level and wasn't even in the top 10 in a society tournament. The gameplay demands that you understand golf strategy and course management. Know which side of the pin is the safe side and play your shot to miss to that side.

I know how to get myself around the golf course, but 90% of the time i get slow and it doesn’t feel like I’m slow at all. Ill have a swing that feels slow and it comes out perfect. I can’t get a feel for the tempo at all

I have an XBox One OG in my bedroom. I can play 2K21 on it and it does a reasonable job of sustaining 30 FPS. It's lacking the 4K res and additional course object detail of my One X, but it's still pretty nice. The problem I have with it is it's connected to an older 55" LCD display that doesn't have a "Game" mode input.

I've read stats on this set that say I get a 62 ms input lag, whereas my TCL Series 6, to which I have my XBox One X connected in the rec room, has a 17.5 ms input lag in Game mode. The numbers don't speak just how significant this difference is. That hurts my try to play the game on that system more than anything else, but if I only played on my OG XBox One, I'd probably adapt to that lag to a large degree.

So after having the game for a week this is my impression of the difficulty levels.

I played Master on 19 scored anywhere between 65-75 depending upon wind and the overall difficulty of each course.

Started at Pro in 21 and found it if anything a little too easy not 12 under easy but not enough of a challenge unless I was playing in insane wind conditions.
Tried Master and found the challenge a bit too much for me. The timing window is vastly different than Pro to the point that each shot was a grind almost to the point of playing real golf.
So I have gone back to Pro and having more fun with the game which is the point really.
I cannot recommend the game enough for anyone who is on the fence they have done a remarkable job with the game. Yeah there are glitches here and there but overall I am more than satisfied.
