are matches online allowed to have users with different club difficulties still? or is it everyone set at a certain level (like everyone at medium)? or is it segregated where users can choose, but where master clubs users only play other master club users?

also, is there cross-platform play? can pc play versus xbox versus ps4, for example?
Ranked matchmaking forces everyone to play Pro difficulty. Private matches can be tuned as you wish.

    There's no cross play.

Any mouse users besides me finding that they have a natural draw/fade to their mouse movement? I consistently hit slightly fast with a sharp downswing to the right, and the result is a nice-looking draw that gets a little extra distance and consistently ends up a bit to the right of where I was aiming, assuming flat ground. It's the only kind of swing motion I can consistently make while taking a full backswing (meaning continuing to move the mouse back until I reach my desired power, even if that step isn't necessary) - the force of moving the mouse forward from further back just naturally pushes it to the right. Kind of a pain to have to deal with that on shorter shots though...lol.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread

Played a couple rounds in career mode last night. Really liked it! I'm on Pro-Am at the moment and it feels relatively easy, so I may switch up to "Pro" considering thats the standard mode for online play.

I hadnt played a TGC game before, but I found the controls natural to adjust too. Even managed a couple killer shots with the shot shaper.

Career mode presentation is nice - I'm not sure what the deal is once you get to the PGA tour and have a full season there. Curious how many events there are and how "years" are represented.

I'm a little surprised at some of the feedback regarding putting being difficult. The meter is fast yes, but I didnt find it that difficult to adjust to at all. Putting felt like one of the easier parts of the game to pick up to me. It's the short/approach shots that are probably the most tricky.

Courses look great, but the graphics arent amazing. Most of the crowd look static, the trees and what not dont look super hot either, but not a deal breaker by any means.

I'm excited to hop into some tournaments online too. A quick browse through the clothing catalogue was good, showed a fair amount of options for customizing your golfer, but I feel there should probably be even more. Hopefully they add on over time. The UI within the clothing/golf bag area is a little strange

Overall, looking forward to playing even more today!

Love the game so far. Head and shoulders above the previous 3 games. Everything looks better even on my mid range Vizio.

I thought the putting on the previous game was something I would have left alone as this new mechanic is going to take some time getting used to for sure. I see a 4 putt or three in your future.

Very early impressions but this has exceeded my expectations. Those around here know I didn’t have much. Kudos to the audio team. The club sounds are fantastic especially when you hit a perfect perfect.

Calibrate your swings in the practice menu. Helped me out a lot. Couldn’t help me from shooting a 10 on 18 at Sawgrass to ruin a solid round though.

Enjoying it so far. Couple things I do miss from the Rory days tho....

                1) The speed on putts in terms of the swing seems really fast. It's not bothering me much, but I preferred the slower pace to Rory.

                2) I do like the putting line-up line, in that it's shown once per hole, and that's it. You can't constantly aim and re-draw. I think Tiger used to be like this. If you like the putting aids, that's a decent compromise.

                3) I do wish you could have the option like Rory of only playing *some* holes. Yea, I can play just two rounds, but that doesn't work as well for me.

Aside from that, seems like a solid effort so far. I had heard that majors weren't incorporated, so that's a shame if true (although odd, because there is a separate setting for rounds in a major vs regular event). If there are majors, but they're just not called by the correct name - that's fine. Ideally, you'd be able to download courses as they become available and incorporate them into the season schedule. Probably asking too much there.

I hate the putting. I’m having birdie and par putts on every home and I cannot break 90 because every putt is 15 feet past the hole. I wish there was a way to adjust putting difficulty and not the rest.
There are fake majors, which isnt too bad. Much more upset with the whole fedex playoffs not being included

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread

I've played 54 holes now, 18 in a Legend challenge that was posted in the official forum (shot 125!?), and the rest in Pro. I've had two birdies over those 54 holes I'm finding the game much tougher than I thought it would be, but that's good... I think. What's killing me the most is tempo control. I miss it fast and slow almost equally.

The putting is almost as difficult as tempo control for me. I missed at least 8 or 9 putts of 2 feet or less. Most of my misses are leaving the putt short, although I do tend to pull about one out of four putts. I simply need to spend time on the practice green, getting a handle on the stroke.

The course graphics look better than I thought they would on my XBox One X. No video is able to capture the look of the grass textures. The heavy rough avoids the homogeneous, blanket quality that the videos were seeming to portray. The textures vary enough in height, grain, uniformity, and color shading to where the rough looks natural.

I've got a lot to learn to become comfortable with this game, but it looks like it will be an enjoyable learning curve. I went against my word and played a public matchmaking match last night. After seeing how difficult the game plays in Pro difficulty. I wasn't as worried about the 2 putt previews. My opponent birdied the first hole with an 11 foot putt, while I was looking at an 8 footer for bogey. I thought... 'well, this one's going be over quick! Wrong, I watched my opponent quickly unravel, missing fairways, leaving approaches way short, and missing at least 3, sub 3 foot putts. I won the match 3 and 1.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the game and I'm humbled to say I don't see myself breaking par in Pro (at least not with the power bars off) for a while yet!

Not a new take, but worth mentioning repeatedly.

This is not The Golf Club 2020.

If you’re expecting to pick it up and have it feel and play similarly to the past three titles, you’re in for a big surprise. Some will hate it, some will love it, but it’s surprisingly different in regards to how it feels and plays than 2019.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread

Playing in Master clubs with some extra aids turned off. Really difficult, the Q-School Final at TPC Louisiana I play well at but other courses have been a bit tricky at the moment. Maybe that was just me at 4 am just trying to fly though the rounds tho.

Perfect tempo is hard to come by on drives but my iron and wedge shots usually hit perfect. Im playing anywhere from -4 to +6.

Pitch shots with the new "Purple HOF" Jaws MD5 wedges I have in my bag are completely useless. Perfect tempo is impossible and I usually hit slow tempo which results in a virtually 50% pitch shot. Have to aim a bit less and hit fast I guess.

Overall the game is fantastic. Wish the coin packs were up to be bought so I could buy all the clothing options I wanted but that has no correlation to gameplay. My one big gripe is I'll probably have to switch my PS4 to 1080p and just let my 4K tv upscale it, because the golfer animations after holing out and the load times to the next hole are just SO choppy and laggy.

I'm digging it. Have played all TGC titles and this one Is the most polished. Got room for improvement, menus are slow and transitions on replays as well

As for game play working my way up from Pro-am with custom settings so that the Aim markers don't show adjustments to lie angle, wind, elevation or Tru Aim. So I have to mKe my own adjustments as to what to expect

Also turned off meter to show percentage only so its more intuitive. After a couple rounds I'm dialing in putting pretty well but the vibration helps a bit but didn't see anywhere to turn that off

Overall digging the game and the PGA tour.

Also I lost my internet connection last night in middle of a PGA round and it kicked me out so can only play local matches when offline and it doesn't save progress offline and u can only use official courses

Playing on Pro. Can't see ever getting above Master level and if the putting becomes harder on that level then I wouldn't bother with that. Just about everything is Fast I feel more comfortable just swinging normally and not trying for Perfect. When I do that I get Slow which is no good.

Barely broke 100 first round then broke 90 then 80 then shot even a couple of times. The putting can be very difficult. Past games I could lag close enough to insure a two putt in this game it becomes a challenge. Overall I think the game is great can't wait to see what the top designers can do.

The player face model looks incredible and they actually got the golfer to walk after the putts.

Can someone please remind me in true aim using the right stick to adjust the loft or impact angle what is what plus sign is more loft or more carry?

Actually I use left stick for stroke so mine might be backwards anyway can someone exain the whole Tru aim system? I didn't pay enough attention at start up and the glossary tells you nothing of the mechanics... So shot shaping draw /fade and vertical is on one stick... What is the vertical ladjustment? And in other stick plus and minus?
                              Thx
