Patch 1.05 Now Available

A new update was released for PGA Tour 2K21 today...4.2 GB. And it seems to only have added some minor fixes and...interesting Halloween-related MyPlayer gear:

Added audio adjustments in PGA TOUR Career.
Fixed UI related issues.
Addressed concerns related to Online Societies.
Addressed reported concerns related to crashing problems.
Addressed stuttering and framerate drop issues.
Added performance and stability improvements.
Other minor fixes.

That was exactly my first thought...how those who were TGC diehard fans always went after EA's "arcadey" golf games like Tiger Woods and Rory.

I know HB Studios has a reputation for releasing their game, then never being heard from again. If this is what they come up with for updates, perhaps they should go back and live up to that reputation. What a waste of time this is.

6 year olds with their parents' credit cards, probably.

It's also funny to read other's posts on various sites and forums, defending these updates as being already planned, widening the appeal of the game, etc. These are the same folks who likely bashed EA and others for adding in arcade elements to their games. My, how the tables have turned...haha

TGC has always had a fairly rabid core of sycophant defenders. It made more sense when it was a plucky little upstart with the HB dev team very involved and communicative, etc. (TGC 1/2 basically).

Why anyone is rushing to the defense of this franchise and HB anymore is beyond me. All the charm is gone, but the bugs, issues and weird stuff remain...and instead of meaningfully communicating about and addressing those issues (pick any number of them mentioned all over the web)....they are pumping out taco putters, pumpkin heads and hats that are 30 sizes too big and look ridiculous.

"Widening the appeal" by adding ways to make your golfer look like an absolutely moronic idiot? -- Jesus -- good luck to you HB/2K.

What's next? Tie-dye grass and monster filled lava pits added to the course designer?

Hey 2K why don't you instead add the capability to play as the PGA Pros in your game? Would generate more interest than having the ability to play with a pumpkin on your head.

I gotta admit...the "update" zapped all interest I had in this game. I don't really wanna turn it on and play, knowing that this is the content they have lined up. I'm sure there will be turkey or Pilgrim hats come Thanksgiving, Santa hats in December, Easter Bunny ears around Spring, etc.

They don't tell anyone about what updates and content have planned, they don't really even talk about it after it's release. I don't play TGCTours anymore, because even the "casual" Beer League flight is dominated by scores of -50 or lower. I'll never compete in the "actual" leagues, so why bother?

And then there are the unannounced server-side updates that alter tempo and change how the game is played. That's...not great, Bob.

All I can do is play local rounds on real courses to get my golf fix occasionally, and maybe dabble in career mode for a bit until it gets too repetitive.

This is a fine game, at its core...but it seems HB lacks the desire or vision to keep it interesting for more than two months. I know that this has been the knock on HB Studios for some time. I guess I am now just experiencing it first hand, since I waited until TGC 2019 was under $20.

This is currently my favorite game right now. I play it almost everyday but have been too busy this week but had just a moment last night and wanted to check out the new weekly deals on Xbox. I saw the game was updating and I was hoping we got some new course's but didn't have time to check. Now I just seen this. So this was the update content? Very disappointed right now. They should of used the time and effort to add a few more course's even if their not official ones.
